Puerto Rico – A New State full of Potential Progressive Voters

51 States - One Step Closer to 57

Ok, here is the quick and dirty History of Puerto Rico.  Puerto Rico lies nestled right between Haiti/Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands.  It is in the same island chain as Cuba.  To get it in your mind right, Cuba is closest, then then Haiti/Dominican and then Puerto Rico.

image

Christopher Columbus landed on the island, which was inhabited by Amerindian Natives, in 1493 on his second voyage and claimed it for Spain.  Spain had it as a colony until the Spanish American war, in 1898 the United States invaded.  The US got Puerto Rico, Guam, Cuba, the Philippines in the Treaty of Paris.  They began their relationship with the US as a territory governed my Martial Law, two years later moved to mostly self governed using systems virtually identical to a State’s, In 1917 all the inhabitants became citizens of the US, they began having popular elections of representatives and gained a US style Judicial system, Under Truman they got a regularly elected governor and other trappings of statehood including non voting representatives in DC, this had the effect of changing its’ status from Territory to Commonwealth or “Free Associated State”.  All of this was paving the way for a vote for statehood, currently three different plebiscites or votes have been taken by the people and all three have failed to win enough votes to make Puerto Rico our 51st state.

Why?

Well it probably has a lot to do with getting something for nothing.  To put it another way, why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?  They have all of the benefits of statehood, with fewer taxes.

Enter The Zero Regime…

There is a bill up for vote today to support Puerto Rico’s right to self determination.  This is on the face of it, nonsense.  Puerto Rico already has that right and has expressed itself three times to remain as it is.  BUT, just like Yesterday’s post on Amnesty and Illegal Immigration, granting Puerto Rico Statehood would win many many Liberal Progressive voters.

You doubt it?

New Progressive Party The UN is heavily involved in the push for a change in Puerto Rico’s status.     From 1952 to 2007, Puerto Rico had three political parties which stood for three distinct future political scenarios. The Popular Democratic Party (PPD) seeks to maintain the island's "association" status as a commonwealth, and has won in referendums on the island's status held over six decades since coming under U.S. control.  The New Progressive Party (PNP) (catchy isn’t it?) seeks statehood. The Puerto Rican Independence Party seeks independence.

The real clincher on this one is this:  apparently in the bills that will follow this “nonbinding” vote today is a provision to allow people born in Puerto Rico but currently living in the continental US to vote on Puerto Rico’s status.  Read it again, a US citizen, born in Puerto Rico but currently living in, say, Illinois, will be able to vote in the self determination vote for Puerto Rico.

According to the latest estimates 70%  of Puerto Ricans cannot speak English passably, and many many of the recent immigrants TO Puerto Rico have been from Central America including Venezuela and Colombia and also from Cuba.

Now ask yourself, in a Liberal House and Senate do you think, for an instant that if Nasty Pelotox and Dingy Harry and Chairman Zero thought that the people of Puerto Rico would:

a) Vote for statehood on their own without stacking the deck and;

b) vote in any way Conservative Republican or Libertarian after gaining statehood

They would a) stack the deck and b) want there to be a vote?

So here is what I think they are up to regarding Puerto Rico, it all seems to make some sense, They have this vote to affirm Puerto Rico’s right to Self Determination.  Puerto Rico already has a constitution, a popularly elected government, follows all federal regulations, and its’ populace are all citizens.

The Current Speaker of the House, President of the Senate,  and Governor are all members of this “New Progressive Party” (although actually claim to align themselves with Republicans, lending more credence to the crazy notion that Parties really do not matter), once this sham vote takes place in congress, they will call another referendum, although this time allow anyone born in Puerto Rico no matter where they reside (or actually probably no matter if they were born in Puerto Rico or not) to vote.  Then, because there are already delegates in Congress, they will immediately ask to be seated and BLAMMO we have a 51st state.  Then these so called republicans will decide they will caucus with the Liberals and Bingo, we are back to a filibuster proof super majority.

Heck- they might just do it without resorting to a vote.  Congress votes in a nonbinding agreement that Puerto Rico has the right to self determination, and bang the delegates are seated as senators and representatives.  Sew another star on the flag boys and girls…

So take Amnesty for Illegals, throw in Puerto Rico, and what do you have…the re-election of the most rapidly unpopular president in history to a second term.

Puerto Rico: One Step Closer to 57.  next up, Guam, American Samoa, and the  US Virgin Islands …no really…click the link.

There is a bill pending Senate approval in the United States Congress that would authorize the United States Secretary of the Interior to extend technical assistance grants and other assistance to facilitate a political status public education program in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam and American Samoa

ISNT THAT NICE?

Simple solution for Arizona immigration: Mexifornia

Yes. I have a simple solution for the immigration law protests in Arizona. We don't need to boycott Arizona. We don't need to make refried bean swastikas. The solution doesn't even involve Arizona. My solution is to give the illegals California. We can call it Mixifornia. Let them assume California's debt, sovreignty and grant them secession from the Union. We could keep our Flags the same by granting Puerto Rico statehood. After all, at least Puerto Ricans are proud to be American citizens. We could even give back all the californian representation in Washington DC. After all, once Pelosi dies (if she's not dead already) she has so much plastic and composite materials under whatever material NASA has created for her to call skin that she could be simply stuck on a pole and made a statue. She could be the Mexifornia national mascot known as the Chupacabra (a demon from Caribbean folklore). The illegals could migrate to California and get everything for free all the time. They could hate their gringos all they want and be free to smuggle all the coke, meth, and illegals to Mexifornia and leave them there, and the rest of us alone. After all, when you boil this dispute down to the real issues, it is about race pimping, bringing in a new working class to be government dependent and getting them hooked on drugs so that they can go through the revolving door of the legal system, further enslaving them. So let's start a petition drive for the foundation of Mexifornia, to stop the illegal immigration problem once and for all!!!!!

We lost this battle for now, so where do we go from here?

On Mar 22, 2010, at 7:05 AM, karin@dcworksforus.com sent me an E-mail that complemented the blog post I was working on perfectly. I combined her e-mail with a partial post and got exactly what I wanted to say. I will start by saying some of you may be thinking of giving up. If so, look at an American Flag, think about George Washington who lost 3/4ths of the battles he commanded in the Revolutionary war. Did he or his troops just quit? I will go a step further and warn you that if you give up, I will sick my pet leopard on you so don't even go there!!!! Trust me, she leaves scars when she scratches. So, now that we remember that this a war and last night was just one skirmish in one battle and there is still a huge fight ahead, what's next?
Fellow Americans,

1) Where we are at and 2) what we can do about it, nationally and locally:

1) They did it. They passed it.

Town Halls in August...they didn't listen.
1.7 Million people in Washington DC in September...they didn't listen
Phone, Fax, Emailing......they didn't listen.
Blogging....they didn't listen
More rallies, up until yesterday...they didn't listen.

Instead, we have heard the first shot at us, as Americans, not while we
are confronting the most powerful empire of the 18th Century, not on
Lexington Green but from within the halls of Congress last night.

Instead, the very personal freedom of our nation has been attacked, not by
the air by enemy forces of Japan while our ships are in Pearl Harbor, but
by Congress last night for all of us to see on CSPAN.

Instead, our financial structure has been attacked, not by JihadistMuslims who hijacked four planes on September 11, but by the vote heard
round the world when Congress, last night, has determined to destroy our
failing economy by placing a much larger tax burden on its citizens, all
the while taking away our freedom of control over our own persons and that
of our families.

2) What are we going to do about it?

1) Continue to call your Representative's office in DC, ask for the
scheduler and book a Town Hall for when they return to your District. We
will not go away. They will still hear from us.

2) They needed 216 votes. They obtained 219. It came down to 4 votes.
Currently, there are 4 Congressional Districts without Representatives.
Taxation without Representation.

Nationally, we need your help to obtain one more Conservative vote as thevery next election is April 13th. I am not kidding. Every vote matters
in this insane Congress. Email me that you will commit the next three
weeks to get Edward Lynch into office.

3) This week, conservative candidates running for Congress, who have
stepped up to plate to run against the current traitorous Congress, are on
a national deadline to obtain 4,000+ petitions to get their name on the
ballot. Find out who your conservative candidate is in your District,
call them up and help them obtain those petitions. That will save the
conservative movement $4,350,000. That is money we can use to
effectively fight against thee Progressives.

You decide, $4,350,000 to get conservatives on the ballot or to fight
against the Progressives who have set out to destroy our country.

4) Get in the game. How many of you are still reading and forwarding
emails? Get to your local Republican Executive Committee. There is no
patience for Democrats. Few Blue Dogs held the line. Stupak's block
should be tried as traitors. Let that be a lesson to us, there is no room
for compromise. Help the party that held the line.
How many Independents held the line in Congress? None. That translates
to no third party this year. You want to save your nation or do you want
to make a new sandbox to play in and be ineffective. Get in the game. Do
not waste your vote? Besides, in the primary, Independents have no say.

So what can we do next on the national scene to show them that by winning a battle, they have escalated this non-violent war and we will not simply lay down because the Botoxinator and "naked dead fish" Rahm bought a bunch of votes. Think about this one: if we keep up this kind of pressure or even better, ratchet up the pressure, the scumbags will run out of things to promise...or Pelosi will have to promise her botox dialysis machine and her skin will fall off revealing her inner Cylon.
Last summer, 2-3 million of went to DC for a day. That and all the tea parties and town halls weren't enough.
That was how the antiwar protestors started too, but when that didn't work, they went to DC and stayed hence the term "sit in." We need enough people to go to DC and surround Capitol Hill so they don't get in our out without "our courtesy." The 60s antiwar protestors put DC on lockdown for an entire summer. It got so bad, it made LBJ decide not to run for a second real term as President. If we coordinate with all those going to see Beck and Oreilly, or all the leaders that joined Karin to visit Michael Steele, people could go for a week and rotate in and out. I camped out in my front yard for 2 months after Hurricane Ivan. That was to protect my place from looters and we had no power so it was more comfortable. I believe a "sit in" is the only way that I can think of to make a bigger statement to politicians that this ain't over until they repeal the bill without resorting to unnecessary violence. When the part of this law calling for people to either buy insurance or go to jail, I will be the first one there as I will
never so much as lift a finger because Obama says I have to.

We can all keep up the battle locally as well:

A Storm is coming...

Funny how things work with nature/God or whatever you believe in, but just as the vote to begin the dismantling of America was taking place, We had a nasty (for this time of year) storm. I thought it was quite timely to film for a post because there is a storm coming. It is a storm of angry Americans who for all practical purposes were called ignorant assholes who have no clue what is good for our lives or our future. Before the vote, I thought it was 50/50 whether obamahealthcaredestruction passed. Now I think it's 50/50 that we see a "significant" increase in violence as anger pointed at representatives who refused to listen to their bosses (The American People) turns to open rage.

*NOTE: I don't support violence, but as angry as I am over the passage of this bill, I have no doubt others are far IMG_0853 (iPhone & iPod) 4:29
to crossing that line, so I say...a storm is coming much like this one that I stood in and filmed while Pelotox spoke (I figured the lightning and hail were less dangerousbeliefs

This is a story nearly as old as time itself

Tyranny It really all comes down to who knows better.  It is the same story that most of you are familiar with as being told by Braveheart.  The Scots-Irish is the culture that more than any other begat the USA.   It goes way, way back to the time of the Romans several years before Christ’s birth, but really takes off not long after his death.  The Roman army conquered the south end of England but was never able to really take the north because there were crazy people up there who fought like madmen and painted themselves blue, they were called Picts.  They refused to bend a knee to a far away authority.  Their culture was based on family ties, personal honor, and leadership was only accepted after it had been earned.  Allegiance was to the most local level.  In AD 122 Hadrian began construction of a wall between the ‘civilized’ part of the island and the wild north. Kings tried again and again for literally hundreds of years to bring these ‘savages’ into line.  They map_ireland_england burned whole towns, slaughtered them in droves but never, eva, eva, won.  These people had freedom hard wired into their DNA.  The Scottish ‘nobles’ eventually were bought off and became ‘civilized’ to the British way of thinking, but still the people themselves never submitted.  They did not view allegiance the same way as the Brits. The British view was of wealth and property, poor people owed their allegiance to their rich ‘betters’.  Scotsmen knew in their hearts every man, prince or pauper, was free, and as stated before their allegiance was to their Kin, then their Clan, then their neighbor clan. They were not isolationists like the gypsies, did not have a class caste system like the rest of Europe, and they freely intermarried with other groups, who then became Scots.  This is what we think of as  a “grassroots” organization now. Their religious affiliation was Protestant and they were some of the first.  The Brits had always also had difficulty with the Irish, for differing but similar reasons.  They decided getting the Scots to move into Ireland would allow them to take both Ireland and Scotland in time.  Bad plan.  Many Scots moved to Ireland in the Ulster Plantation under a colonization plan dreamt up by the Brits.  Soon the Irish and the Scots were fighting each other…when they weren’t both killing the English.  The Irish and the Scots had similar views on Freedom, but differing views on Religion.  Then the first colonization of North America began.  Some Scots-Irish left Ulster to come to the “new world”  with puritans_71107 the Puritans thinking they too could have religious freedom, and to their way of thinking they were protestants just like the Puritans.  Not true.  The Puritans idea of religious freedom was that everyone should be ‘free’ to worship as the Puritans did (Everyone was entitled to their opinion, as long as it was the Puritan opinion).

appalachia6  Scots again refused to be assimilated, and were pushed further west into the Appalachian mountains, which was similar to throwing Brer Rabbit into the Briar Patch.  More Scots came and they stayed in the Mountains, moving South all the while. They intermarried and had lots and lots of little Scots-Irish babies (up to 40% higher birthrates than other immigrants at the time).  Ohio was opened for settlement and by this time the Native Americans or “Indians” were wise to this tide of white men and so began killing of the more gentrified of the English settlers…  The aristocracy in Britain thought they knew just the people to send over to make the Indians lives rough…the Scots.  They sent Scotsmen literally by the boatload to cheap land on the wild western frontiers as as a buffer between “Civilization”  and the “Indians”.  The Scots did as predicted and more.  The Scots kept coming, causing at least one wealthy landowner in England to lament (paraphrasing) “why are we letting them move if it is only so that they can have a better life, how does that profit us?” because he was losing too many tenants on his vast landholdings. The Scots kept pushing the Indians, and still managed to cause problems with their more ‘enlightened, wealthy, and civilized betters’  When the American Revolution began many in England saw it as nothing more than just one more Scottish rebellion, some called it exactly that.  The vast majority of the Scots stayed out of Militia_Shooting2 the fray until the English using their typical bullying tactics that had so enraged Scotsmen for eons, really went too far.  Then buckskin Scots came down out of the hills near Kings Mountain and destroyed an entire British Loyalist force 10 to 1.  Then they did it again at Cowpens, which the Brits never recovered from, ending in their defeat at Yorktown.  The Scots refused to bend a knee, and the USA was born. Down through the ages, the Scots-Irish CULTURE, meaning not only those people descended from the Scots, but also those who became culturally inseparable from the Scots,  have fought in more battles and done more to defend Freedom than any other group of people.  They have given us most of our  presidents (61%), many of our founding fathers were Scotsmen by birth or culture.

Nasty Botoxi Night of Living Dead

The battle is the same today in the 21st century. The Puritans, the Elite, Our Betters, the Democrats, the proponents of European Socialism believe they know better than us.  Us, of the Mountains of Appalachia, the Carolinas, descendents of the first settlers of Ky, TN, TX, AR, and the Missouri Ozarks and all points West.  Our ancestors were at the forefront of the frontier and settled the West because no one else was tough enough, crazy enough restless enough to do it.  They were always fighting and moving to try to keep their individual freedoms, to be LEFT ALONE.  Today we are called Hillbillies, Rednecks, Rubes, Hicks, Uneducated and Unenlightened.  We are the faceless ignorant electorate, “those People” in the “Flyover”.  What we really are is the Poor but Proud, the  Entrepreneurs, The self made men and women  who frickin run this country, just like our ancestors.

We don’t want this BS you call healthcare reform, or Cap and Trade or whatever  else you want to call your naked power grabs. We do not want you to pass it so we can see what is in it.  We don’t believe that when the economy recovers we will look back and see that passing Obamacare was the right thing to do.  We don’t think you know better than us.

You. Are. Not. Our. Rulers.

ALL YOU ARE DOING IS SEALING YOUR FATE, WE WILL NOT BEND A KNEE FOR OUR BETTERS.  YOU ARE DONE.

I swear to God, if you do not get a clue,  one day you may look out the window of your ivory tower up there and see a bunch of people getting out of big 4x4 trucks with their bodies painted Blue, sporting John Deere caps, Carrying broadswords and deer rifles, with wild hair and crazed looks in their eyes, just doing what  they have done for centuries.  Kickin your ass.

My first REC meeting:

In case some of you don't know, I have developed unique ties to the local Republican Party. (Something that, a year ago, I'd never imagine doing, but times change as do political winds and the local Republican party seems intent on listening to the complaints of the local 9/12 aka "tea party" movement. For those of you who don't understand, the REC is basically the local version of the RNC. Our support for local, state and national candidates, and our blog work in that area has gained us access into an REC meeting. This was really a big event as the topic of the evening was how the corruption of the current Republicans in power is being swept out and calls for closer ties to the "Tea Party" movement are being listened to. This was a unique experience for me as I have never been a part of any such anything like this. People that I support were present and speeches from all the local candidates seeking office from DC, to city councils were there and gave speeches. There is definitely momentum there as the average attendance for such a meeting from what I was told was in the 60's after the 08 election, and the attendance last night was 132. Some of this was because a big rising star in both the "tea party" and republican circles was in attendance. His name is Lt Col Allen West. (R) FL. Many of you may have heard of him. If you have not, you should, as I believe he has the "right stuff" to be President one day. If you have never heard of Lt. Col West, he has a very distinguished military record, and has been a pillar in the local community also. You can find out all about him and his campaign here:http://allenwestforcongress.com/. I was able to speak briefly with Lt. Col West, and offered my support both as a blogger and as a person to try and help his campaign however possible. I will be contacting his staff later today. All in all. this was a good start to what I hope will be a time when I can use this blog, and all my e-mail contacts to support these candidates. I also post on several local 9/12 oriented blogs and will also continue to utilize those to the best of my abilities to support the candidates that I believe will help grind the agenda of mr. obama, "dirty harry" Reid and Nancy Pelotox to a halt.
(Photos are Lt. Col Allen West giving a speech before the RNC, West gets standing O from the crowd and, gives me a closeup photo as we discuss blogger help)

Ed Lynch, Red Eye tomorrow night...

Local Republican candidate and associate who I am supporting for Congress, Ed Lynch will be making an appearance on "Red Eye" tomorrow night (3:00 A.M. Fox News) For those of you unfamiliar with "Red Eye", think of it as libertarian political late night comedy. Sorta like a "libertarian" Letterman, but funny, and with a slight potty mouth. Ed Lynch is running for congress in District 19, being vacated by Robert Wexler (can we get a hooray???). Lynch is currently filling out a similar e-mail Q@A to others posted here. Already endorsed by DC works for US, and the local crew at 850A.M. led by Joyce Kaufman, (can we get another round of applause), Ed Lynch http://www.electlynch.com/ is the primary winner making him the only choice, but having looked up Mr. Lynch's records objectively, I can't find any reason to oppose him. He is campaigning as a "conservative" i.e. "tea party" Republican. The local media is running a smear campaign on Lynch right now. Given the ideological leanings of our local media, I'd be far more skeptical of him if our media supported him. Lynch also played a role in exposing Wexler's corruption. That really makes winning this this seat important to us here as it would really cement a victory for us bloggers and the conservative media. Lynch will also be speaking at C-Pac on the illegal immigration issue. If Wexlers' seat gets filled by a liberal dem, then all our work will be for nothing. Having to spoken to Lynch now several times I believe he will cause Nancy Pelosi's Botox dialysis machine to need a double dose. I hope you readers will get behind Lynch and give him any support you can both in a financially and on the blogosphere. Electing folks like Lynch into seats being vacated by "fire breathing liberals" is of the utmost importance if we want to really neuter mr. obama a.k.a. Chairman Zero. So lets get all the help we can here as you have seen what replacing one liberal with one moderate can do in the Senate, but soon we will be able to elect a whole army of pro-liberty candidates to the house and senate. Among the first of which will April 13th which will be the special election to replace Wexler. If there is anything any of you can do to help us win this seat and continue the momentum with the wins in VA, NJ, and NJ and MA, please give us Floridians, and Ed Lynch your support.

Co-viral of the day:2009 political events

So, Let's Recap "2009".........what a year! PLEASE KEEP READING to
the end.

1. The American people elect a black president with a total of 142 days
experience as a US Senator from the most politically corrupt state
(city) in America whose governors have been ousted from office.
The President's first official act is to order the close of Gitmo and
make sure
terrorists civil rights are not violated.
(honest mistake?)

2. The U.S. Congress rushes to confirm a black Attorney General, Eric
Holder, whose law firm we later find out, represents seventeen Gitmo
Terrorists.
(An honest mistake?!)

3. The CIA Boss appointee, Leon Panetta, has absolutely no experience,
has a daughter Linda, we find out, who is a true radical anti-American
activist and a supporter of all the Anti-American regimes in the
western hemisphere.(There were socio-economic factors involved!)

4. We got the second most corrupt American woman (Pelosi is #1) as
Secretary of State; bought and paid for. (You can put lipstick on a
pig, but it still stinks!)

5. We got a Tax Cheat for Treasury Secretary who did not properly file
his own taxes for 12 years.
(He misspoke!)

6. A Commerce Secretary nominee who withdrew due to corruption charges.
(Another honest mistake???)

7. A Tax cheat nominee for Chief Performance Officer who withdrew under
charges.
(Hmmm... another screw-up?)

8. A Labor Secretary nominee who withdrew under charges of unethical
conduct.
(Ok, maybe this person was just plain stupid.)

9. A Secretary HHS nominee (Daschle) who withdrew under charges of
cheating on his taxes.
(I'm running out of excuses for these idiots!!)

10. Multiple appointments of former lobbyists after an absolute
campaign statement that no lobbyists would be appointed.
(Dear God, I am getting a headache!)

All this occurred just during the first three weeks. . . but who's
counting?

America is being run by the modern-day Three Stooges ; Barry, Nancy and
Harry and they are still trying to define stimulus..."it's spending!!!"

The congress passes the $800,000,000,000 (that's $800 billion)
pork-loaded spending bill where the government gives you a smidgen of
your tax dollars ($13 per week), making you feel so good about yourself
[stimulated], that you want to run out to Wal-Mart and buy a new
Chinese-made HDTV and go home and watch Telemundo!

Only with the Liberals...

Pray for our country.

Here's the good news though - Obama took Air Force One to Denver to
sign the stimulus package, wasting as much as 10,000 gallons of fuel OR
24 JOBS FOR ONE YEAR.

Don't you just love hypocrites?

Speaking of praying, Obama has now been president for 12 months and yet
he & wife (first lady) Michelle, the Christian family they claim to be,
have not attended church since the inauguration.

He must miss Reverend Wright!

In these times 'I'll keep my God, my freedom, my gun and my money.

Anyone that supports this insanity can keep "THE CHANGE".

Did I predict the speech correctly? You tell me.

Now read this again and tell me whether I was right about the potus-totus speech. I watched very litlle of it personally and what I saw required the rebuilding of the county sewer system as he was so full of it. I'm going to see the dentist...I love mixing pain pills with Xanax combined with laughing gas and then driving...just kidding, but seriously, I want to know how accurate a prediction my guess was. I'll do a real post later as the novacaine wears off.

Anybody who has not heard about our State of the Union address to be delivered via TOTUS is probably living in the same cave as UBL. After only a year of worthless blathering form the idiot who claims the throne, is it not perfectly obvious what the State of the Union address will be? It will be a stump speech, making lofty promises that will never be kept by fool making them. He will talk about how HIS stimulus saved the economy from depression brought on by the failed policies of Bush, but ask yourself this: Did it? when unemployment ranges from 10% at best to 50% or more at worst, does that not sound like a depression to you, because it sure does to me. Obama will talk about his failed attempt to get nationalized health care (destruction). He will blame obstructionist Republicans even though the Dems had a supermajority in the Senate and a simple majority is all that is needed in the House of Representatives. Now, every election held since Obama was crowned has gone the other way. Even in NY23 where the Dem technically won, if the votes were totaled for the opposition candidates, it was a landslide in favor of the opposition. This morning CNN is broadcasting from a union town in Ohio where the unions have driven the jobs out of town (the same unions that got sweetheart deals on car company stock and more money than our readership will will likely see in our lifetime. In that town, unemployment is 70%, but this is NOT a depression. obummer will give lofty rhetoric about bringing in jobs while the death of the Bush tax cuts will drive more companies overseas where they can make money. So obama will say he hasn't been perfect, but look at what he was handed (i.e. blaming Bush for everything wrong in America today.)

Obamacare alive and well

Very rarely do I pull stories off of Newsmax but this is important enough for you to understand. Pelosi and Reid had a plan in place in case the Dems lost Massachusetts. Once I read it, it sounded to much like one of Pelosi's moves not to be true. Read this and ask yourself if this is true or not.

Dick Morris: Pelosi and Reid Plot Secret Plan for Obamacare

Highly informed sources on Capitol Hill have revealed to me details of the Democratic plan to sneak Obamacare through Congress, despite collapsing public approval for healthcare "reform" and disintegrating congressional support in the wake of Republican Scott Brown's victory in Massachusetts

President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid all have agreed to the basic framework of the plan.

Their plan is clever but can be stopped if opponents of radical healthcare reform act quickly and focus on a core group of 23 Democratic Congressman. If just a few of these 23 Democrats are "flipped" and decide to oppose the bill, the whole Obama-Pelosi-Reid stratagem falls apart.

Here's what I learned top Democrats are planning to implement.

Senate Democrats will go to the House with a two-part deal.

First, the House will pass the Senate's Obamacare bill that passed the Senate in December. The House leadership will vote on the Senate bill, and Pelosi will allow no amendments or modifications to the Senate bill.

How will Pelosi's deal fly with rambunctious liberal members of her majority who don't like the Senate bill, especially its failure to include a public option, put heavy fines on those who don't get insurance, and offering no income tax surcharge on the "rich"?

That's where the second part of the Pelosi-deal comes in.

Behind closed doors, Reid and Pelosi have agreed in principle that changes to the Senate bill will be made to satisfy liberal House members — but only after the Senate bill is passed and signed into law by Obama.

This deal will be secured by a pledge from Reid and the Senate's Democratic caucus that they will make "fixes" to the Senate bill after it becomes law with Obama's John Hancock.

But you may ask what about the fact that, without Republican Scott Brown and independent Democrats such as Joe Lieberman, Reid simply doesn't have the 60 votes in the Senate to overcome a Republican filibuster that typically can stop major legislation?

According to my source, Reid will provide to Pelosi a letter signed by 52 Democratic senators indicating they will pass the major changes, or "fixes," the House Democrats are demanding. Again, these fixes will be approved by the Senate only after Obama signs the Senate bill into law.

Reid also has agreed to bypass Senate cloture and filibuster rules and claim that these modifications fall under "reconciliation" and don't require 60 Senate votes.

To pass the fixes, he won't need one Republican; he won't even need Joe Lieberman or wavering Democrats such as Jim Webb of Virginia.

His 52 pledged senators give him a simple majority to pass any changes they want, which will later be rubberstamped by Pelosi's House and signed by Obama.

This plan, of course, is a total subversion of the legislative process.

Typically, the Senate and House pass their own unique legislation and then both bills go to a conference committee. In conference, the leadership of both Democrat-dominated houses wheels and deals and irons out differences.

The final compromise bill is then sent back to the full Senate and full House for a vote and has to pass both to go to the president.

In the House, a simple majority passes the legislation. But under Senate rules, major legislation requires 60 votes to end a filibuster.

As it stands, the House bill and Senate bill have major discrepancies. Reid does not have 60 votes to pass a compromise bill that would no doubt include some of the radical provisions House members have been demanding.

But if the House passes the exact Senate bill that passed by a 60-39 Senate vote last month, there is no need for a conference on the bill. It will go directly to the president's desk.

There is a rub to all of this.

This secret plan being hatched by Pelosi and Reid requires not only a pledge by 52 Democratic senators to vote later for the House modifications. House liberals must actually believe these Senators will live up to their pledge and pass the fixes at some future date.

A Senate source cautions: “Senators more than House members and both more than ordinary people, lie.”

Still, my Senate source and others in Washington believe that the liberals in the House, grasping at straws after the stunning Massachusetts defeat, will go along with the Reid-Pelosi plan to bypass a conference bill and ultimately will vote for the Senate version without changes.

Among the key "fixes" House liberals are demanding the Senate pass in reconciliation at some later date include a “carve out” for unions from the “Cadillac policy” insurance tax. The Senate plan funds their healthcare plan by heavy taxes on so-called "Cadillac" insurance plans that provide those insured with exceptionally good coverage including almost unlimited health access with little or no co-payments. The Senate's view was that rich people have such plans and should be taxed for them to pay the less fortunate.

But many unions have Cadillac plans for their members, and they are furious their members will be hit with the Senate tax. The unions have told their minions in the House to oppose the Senate Cadillac plan tax.

House liberals also are requiring a fix that increases fines for those who flout the law and don't buy health insurance (the Pelosi-passed plan includes criminal penalties, including possible jail time if a person doesn't purchase insurance). Another fix will raise subsidies for low-income families seeking to buy insurance.

In the original House bill that passed, healthcare expansion costs would have been paid for by an income tax surcharge on the "rich." House liberals are pushing for that fix as well.

So what is the counter-move? How do opponents of Obamacare stop this?

Opponents cannot rely on liberal Democrats in the House who might balk at passing the Senate bill with just a "pledge" from 52 senators. I have no doubt House liberals, despite their skepticism, will fade under pressure from Pelosi and Obama. They will do their duty and pass the Senate bill, whatever their current posturing.

Instead, the key to stopping the Pelosi-Reid plan lies with conservative or “moderate” Democrats who voted for the healthcare bill the first time.

There are 23 of these conservative-leaning Democratic House members who voted for Pelosi's Obamacare back in November, which passed by just five votes, with 39 Democrats defecting to vote against the bill.

All 23 of these congressmen who did vote for the Pelosi bill are extremely vulnerable.

Opponents of Obamacare need to climb all over these 23 congressmen with TV ads and advocacy campaigns in their districts to get them to change their vote this time, to vote "no" to the Senate bill when it comes before the House.

Voters need to say, "You voted for Obamacare the first time. But your district opposes it by 2 to 1. Now it is coming up for a vote again. Listen to your constituents and vote no. We don’t want Medicare cuts or premium increases or rationing of medical care. Don’t monkey with our healthcare. Vote no this time.”

Since the House healthcare bill passed by five votes, much has happened and the political landscape has changed dramatically.

The Massachusetts election of a Republican to Ted Kennedy's Senate seat has sent shock waves through Washington. Every one of these 23 Democrats knows they will face an angry backlash in their districts if they vote for the Senate bill and go along with Pelosi-Reid plan to ram through Obamacare.

I believe now is the time for opponents to act. The truth is that Obamacare is hanging by a thread.

Opponents, if they move now, can drive a stake through its heart.

Once these congressmen hear from their aroused constituents, they won’t be able to back Obamacare.

As I mentioned, the Pelosi health bill passed the House by only 220-215. Nancy Pelosi knows she has no margin for error.

If only a handful of these 23 congressmen change their vote under public pressure, the Pelosi-Reid plan is stopped and Obamacare is dead.
