The Florida Bullet train and what you MUST KNOW...

The Money Train...

Florida has already acquired a dedicated right-of-way along the I-4 corridor where the rail line will go. This first phase of rail development will include stops at the Orlando Airport, in Orlando, at Disney, Lakeland and then Tampa. With speeds above 120 mph, which is certainly not as fast as bullet trains are running these days (China’s averages 217 mph), this will still be faster than driving by car. The 85 mile trip should take less than an hour, and will also provide better transportation for tourists trying to get to Disneyworld without having to rent a car.

Florida anticipates the first phase of their rail line will cost $3.5 billion, and they are currently raising money from private investors (I.e raising taxes) to cover the remaining billion after they receive the stimulus funding. Construction is set to be completed and trains running by 2014. And now, Obama needs to decide where the rest of the $8 billion in stimulus funding will go. Given the length of phase one and it's cost, which is 3.5 billion, how will we pay for the other phases with only 8billion left? (hint...they're gonna tax our asses off)

But wait, it gets good...Phase 2 goes right over my property as I live a mile west of 95. I've seen the closeup plans and my neighborhood will be taken by imminent domain because of this. They will have to take this property BY FORCE. They have no idea how angry people here are. Simple fact, they will need to use military force to take all the proposed property they want to do this, plus it is forcing Florida which is a "right to work state" (meaning unions cannot force their way into a business and a business can fire someone for trying to start a union.) to unionize because of that stipulation in the stimulus package that says any government contracted labor and subcontractors must be allowed to unionize. Now, does that unionization end when the project ends...why no. See there are all sorts of strings attached to all that "obamamoney". When Obama promised to "help small businesses and small banks with stimulus money, is that going to come with the same strings that were attached to the big banks which was permanent federalization? Same with the auto makers like GM and Chrsysler. Obama said he doesn't want to run those companies, but he hires and fires CEOs at will, forces closings of successful dealerships because they were donors to the other political party, but don't worry, they will give it all back, just like they did in WW1 when they federalized the trains to make Amtrak, and you know how well managed Amtrak is, only losing billions annually...so think long and hard about this train deal and ask yourself, why are we doing this? The Florida legislature made this train a constitutional amendment long ago but in 2004, it was voted down by the people which took a 2/3rds vote, but log cabin Crist and his boy toy obummer are insistent on doing this. Think maybe you ought to ask your self why and wonder when this train will be pulling up into your town.

Did I predict the speech correctly? You tell me.

Now read this again and tell me whether I was right about the potus-totus speech. I watched very litlle of it personally and what I saw required the rebuilding of the county sewer system as he was so full of it. I'm going to see the dentist...I love mixing pain pills with Xanax combined with laughing gas and then driving...just kidding, but seriously, I want to know how accurate a prediction my guess was. I'll do a real post later as the novacaine wears off.

Anybody who has not heard about our State of the Union address to be delivered via TOTUS is probably living in the same cave as UBL. After only a year of worthless blathering form the idiot who claims the throne, is it not perfectly obvious what the State of the Union address will be? It will be a stump speech, making lofty promises that will never be kept by fool making them. He will talk about how HIS stimulus saved the economy from depression brought on by the failed policies of Bush, but ask yourself this: Did it? when unemployment ranges from 10% at best to 50% or more at worst, does that not sound like a depression to you, because it sure does to me. Obama will talk about his failed attempt to get nationalized health care (destruction). He will blame obstructionist Republicans even though the Dems had a supermajority in the Senate and a simple majority is all that is needed in the House of Representatives. Now, every election held since Obama was crowned has gone the other way. Even in NY23 where the Dem technically won, if the votes were totaled for the opposition candidates, it was a landslide in favor of the opposition. This morning CNN is broadcasting from a union town in Ohio where the unions have driven the jobs out of town (the same unions that got sweetheart deals on car company stock and more money than our readership will will likely see in our lifetime. In that town, unemployment is 70%, but this is NOT a depression. obummer will give lofty rhetoric about bringing in jobs while the death of the Bush tax cuts will drive more companies overseas where they can make money. So obama will say he hasn't been perfect, but look at what he was handed (i.e. blaming Bush for everything wrong in America today.)

In order to accomplish this, we will need eyes on the ground and various states leading up to the Midterm elections. Chris was a gracious example of just the types of local bloggers feeding news and the local mood on the ground to other bloggers that will be far more important in the primaries and then in Nov 2010 than just our opinion giving.
