Puerto Rico – A New State full of Potential Progressive Voters

Ok, here is the quick and dirty History of Puerto Rico.  Puerto Rico lies nestled right between Haiti/Dominican Republic and the British Virgin Islands.  It is in the same island chain as Cuba.  To get it in your mind right, Cuba is closest, then then Haiti/Dominican and then Puerto Rico.

 

Christopher Columbus landed on the island, which was inhabited by Amerindian Natives, in 1493 on his second voyage and claimed it for Spain.  Spain had it as a colony until the Spanish American war, in 1898 the United States invaded.  The US got Puerto Rico, Guam, Cuba, the Philippines in the Treaty of Paris.  They began their relationship with the US as a territory governed my Martial Law, two years later moved to mostly self governed using systems virtually identical to a State’s, In 1917 all the inhabitants became citizens of the US, they began having popular elections of representatives and gained a US style Judicial system, Under Truman they got a regularly elected governor and other trappings of statehood including non voting representatives in DC, this had the effect of changing its’ status from Territory to Commonwealth or “Free Associated State”.  All of this was paving the way for a vote for statehood, currently three different plebiscites or votes have been taken by the people and all three have failed to win enough votes to make Puerto Rico our 51st state.

Why?

Well it probably has a lot to do with getting something for nothing.  To put it another way, why buy the cow when you get the milk for free?  They have all of the benefits of statehood, with fewer taxes. 

Enter The Zero Regime…

There is a bill up for vote today to support Puerto Rico’s right to self determination.  This is on the face of it, nonsense.  Puerto Rico already has that right and has expressed itself three times to remain as it is.  BUT, just like Yesterday’s post on Amnesty and Illegal Immigration, granting Puerto Rico Statehood would win many many Liberal Progressive voters.

You doubt it?

The UN is heavily involved in the push for a change in Puerto Rico’s status.     From 1952 to 2007, Puerto Rico had three political parties which stood for three distinct future political scenarios. The Popular Democratic Party (PPD) seeks to maintain the island's "association" status as a commonwealth, and has won in referendums on the island's status held over six decades since coming under U.S. control.  The New Progressive Party (PNP) (catchy isn’t it?) seeks statehood. The Puerto Rican Independence Party seeks independence.

The real clincher on this one is this:  apparently in the bills that will follow this “nonbinding” vote today is a provision to allow people born in Puerto Rico but currently living in the continental US to vote on Puerto Rico’s status.  Read it again, a US citizen, born in Puerto Rico but currently living in, say, Illinois, will be able to vote in the self determination vote for Puerto Rico.

According to the latest estimates 70%  of Puerto Ricans cannot speak English passably, and many many of the recent immigrants TO Puerto Rico have been from Central America including Venezuela and Colombia and also from Cuba. 

Now ask yourself, in a Liberal House and Senate do you think, for an instant that if Nasty Pelotox and Dingy Harry and Chairman Zero thought that the people of Puerto Rico would:

a) Vote for statehood on their own without stacking the deck and;

b) vote in any way Conservative Republican or Libertarian after gaining statehood

They would a) stack the deck and b) want there to be a vote?

So here is what I think they are up to regarding Puerto Rico, it all seems to make some sense, They have this vote to affirm Puerto Rico’s right to Self Determination.  Puerto Rico already has a constitution, a popularly elected government, follows all federal regulations, and its’ populace are all citizens.

The Current Speaker of the House, President of the Senate,  and Governor are all members of this “New Progressive Party” (although actually claim to align themselves with Republicans, lending more credence to the crazy notion that Parties really do not matter), once this sham vote takes place in congress, they will call another referendum, although this time allow anyone born in Puerto Rico no matter where they reside (or actually probably no matter if they were born in Puerto Rico or not) to vote.  Then, because there are already delegates in Congress, they will immediately ask to be seated and BLAMMO we have a 51st state.  Then these so called republicans will decide they will caucus with the Liberals and Bingo, we are back to a filibuster proof super majority. 

Heck- they might just do it without resorting to a vote.  Congress votes in a nonbinding agreement that Puerto Rico has the right to self determination, and bang the delegates are seated as senators and representatives.  Sew another star on the flag boys and girls…

So take Amnesty for Illegals, throw in Puerto Rico, and what do you have…the re-election of the most rapidly unpopular president in history to a second term.

Anybody who has not heard about our State of the Union address to be delivered via TOTUS is probably living in the same cave as UBL. After only a year of worthless blathering form the idiot who claims the throne, is it not perfectly obvious what the State of the Union address will be? It will be a stump speech, making lofty promises that will never be kept by fool making them. He will talk about how HIS stimulus saved the economy from depression brought on by the failed policies of Bush, but ask yourself this: Did it? when unemployment ranges from 10% at best to 50% or more at worst, does that not sound like a depression to you, because it sure does to me. Obama will talk about his failed attempt to get nationalized health care (destruction). He will blame obstructionist Republicans even though the Dems had a supermajority in the Senate and a simple majority is all that is needed in the House of Representatives. Now, every election held since Obama was crowned has gone the other way. Even in NY23 where the Dem technically won, if the votes were totaled for the opposition candidates, it was a landslide in favor of the opposition.This morning CNN is broadcasting from a union town in Ohio where the unions have driven the jobs out of town (the same unions that got sweetheart deals on car company stock and more money than our readership will will likely see in our lifetime. In that town, unemployment is 70%, but this is NOT a depression. obummer will give lofty rhetoric about bringing in jobs while the death of the Bush tax cuts will drive more companies overseas where they can make money. So obama will say he hasn't been perfect, but look at what he was handed (i.e. blaming Bush for everything wrong in America today.)

Coakley campaign implosion?

Did Martha Coakley campaign collaspe?

What happened to the Coakley campaign? Before Christmas she was doing so well. Leading and crushing her opponet Scott Brown in the polls. But now she is struggling. During the christmas break (christmas and New Years week) she pulled ads from Tv and radio and stopped campaigning. Brown took the oppuntity to put up TV ads and put his image out there. (I should note before Christmas Vaca-I did not even see a ad from Brown-mainly it was from Coakley). After the holiday break, Coakley put the ads back on TV and went into attack mode. But now less than a week before the special election, Coakley campaign seems to be collasping. First she said something to the effect that there are no more terrorist in Afganistan (if that is true why is Obama sending 30,000 troops to the region?) Then a current Coakley ad misspells the state of Massachusetts to read "Massachusettes". Then there was the fact that A Coakley supporter knocked over a reporter from the Weekly Standard in full view of the cameras outside a Washington fundraiser Tuesday Night. Coakley claims she didnt see it but photographs say different. Then there was the whole, there will be "hell" in the 2010 elections if Dems lost in MA. The Coakly campaign is imploding, Scott Brown is staying on message, remaining postive and focusing on what he will do in Washington. Even one issue that could hurt brown (picture in a magazine) is not hurting him. A new poll has Brown up by 4 points, that should really worry Dems and the coakley campaign-I'm not going to call this race-but its very close.(Posted by Chris @ My Random Bloghttp://chrisgworld.blogspot.com/)

I have said, and stand by the fact that I believe Brown has more support than polls indicate because of the stigma of voting for Republicans in your area. The biggest mistake Coakley made yet was claiming that anyone voting for "Brown" wants Obama to fail. This statement not only carries a racist overtone, but is an insult to Massachusetts voters who really want Obama and government in general to LISTEN. Voters are tired of town hall after town hall where they tell a Senator or representative that they are opposed to healthcare destruction or stimulus waste, or cap and trade and no matter how much they complain, and the economy worsens, the politicians ignore the voters. Now, the State that was home of the original Boston Tea Party looks to make the biggest political statement in a generation by handing the Senate seat that had Kennedy's name on it and was officially reserved for Democrats forever back to the people who it originally belonged to. As for Brown, in this part of the country he'd be closer to a RINO than a conservative, but anything is better than Coakley who will Rubber stamp anything and everything Harry Reid desires. Now with Obama flying in to campaign, I believe we are seeing signs of major desperation on the part of the Coakley campaign and the Democrat Party. They know that bringing Obama in will have mixed results at best, and given how he helped the Governors' race in NJ, they must be far more worried than they are letting on.

Florida political insurrection...

Marco Rubio has pulled ahead of Florida Governor, RINO and Obama supporter Charlie Crist. A straw poll conducted today in Crist's home county has Rubio with twice the votes as Crist, but really there is a story behind the story here. I am not aware of how much you the readers know about Florida politics, but tea party supporters have successfully taken over the Republican party infrastructure at the local levels. They have pushed for and achieved the ouster of the State Republican Party Chairman Jim Greer who was a longtime friend and supporter of Crist. On top of that, the big money donors who had promised to back Crist have withdrawn their support and endorsed Rubio. Small groups such as DC works for us, which I am now a member have achieved this insurrection by encouraging members to volunteer to become Republican committee members. Doing so is simply a matter of volunteering and gives you a say in what candidates do and don't get support from the Republican Party. This was first done successfully in Nevada and is in the process of being done in several other states. Once the district committees were in the hands of grassroots pro-liberty folks, pressure was then put on Greer and others to step down. A group of very prominent Republican donors have also "circled the wagons" in support of these actions. I have not spoken on this issue here until now as the goal was to keep it quiet so RINO or liberal opposition didn't get the idea to take similar actions. You can see for yourself here:

The grassroots movements such as tea party supporters were handed a huge momentum shift in their favor when Crist (RINO) FL misled the media and voters regarding a visit by mr. obama in Jacksonville. Crist claimed he did not know about obama's visit. Yet, e-mails revealed a very different story, on top of the fact that Crist was invited and one of his aides refused the invitation...."Gov. Charlie Crist's aides knew of Obama trip to Florida" from the Miami Herald, 11/11/09 stated:

"The Republican Crist is running for the U.S. Senate, and has drawn scrutiny for distancing

himself from Obama. The two appeared together in Fort Myers in February to celebrate the stimulus package -- an appearance that has become a liability for Crist as he faces primary challenger Marco Rubio. Crist now says he did not endorse the stimulus, even as he said it

helped bail out the state budget. When reporters in Tallahassee asked Crist whether he knew Obama was in Jacksonville, he replied: ``First I've known of that.'' E-mails obtained by The St. Petersburg Times through a public records request show Crist's office was aware of the visit, and it seems unlikely his aide would have dismissed Crist going to Jacksonville without checking with Crist. Crist's office refused to comment further Tuesday."

This is how you can impact state and national politics beginning at the local level and working your way up. The Republican infrastructure is now receiving a good and needed house cleaning originating from your average tea party and other grassroots organizations that meet and work within their districts at the local level. DC works for Us had affiliated groups have a good plan which is worked to perfection in Nevada (meaning we should get a good candidate to run against Harry "the clansman" Reid). Rubio will be speaking at a local DC works for US in the very near future and I will be in attendance. Supposedly reps from the Crist campaign will do the same. I hope some of you can work with similar groups in your respective states so that we get real supporters of the right change in DC. I know that in Texas, such actions are being taken within the Democrat party as there are two very well funded RINOs in the Republican party so there is no room in the primary for a pro liberty candidate for governor. It does not matter to me what party the grassroots "tea party" insurrection happens in, just as long as the voters get a real choice between pro-liberty and anti-liberty (progressive) candidates. I actually still stand by my hope that a few independents get elected to the national House and Senate to truly scare both parties into representing the American people. In Florida, the best plan is the one that is being implemented which is hijacking the Republican party and driving the RINOs out. As far as those of you in other States and how you handle your internal politics, I would be a hypocrite if I claimed to be a "States rights" advocate and did not feel that those of you in each state should evaluate your own situation and take whatever action is in the best interest of your State.

As far as those of you in other States and how you handle your internal politics, I would be a hypocrite if I claimed to be a "States rights" advocate and did not feel that those of you in each state should evaluate your own situation and take whatever action is in the best interest of your State.

Florida political insurrection...

Marco Rubio has pulled ahead of Florida Governor, RINO and Obama supporter Charlie Crist. A straw poll conducted today in Crist's home county has Rubio with twice the votes as Crist, but really there is a story behind the story here. I am not aware of how much you the readers know about Florida politics, but tea party supporters have successfully taken over the Republican party infrastructure at the local levels. They have pushed for and achieved the ouster of the State Republican Party Chairman Jim Greer who was a longtime friend and supporter of Crist. On top of that, the big money donors who had promised to back Crist have withdrawn their support and endorsed Rubio. Small groups such as DC works for us, which I am now a member have achieved this insurrection by encouraging members to volunteer to become Republican committee members. Doing so is simply a matter of volunteering and gives you a say in what candidates do and don't get support from the Republican Party. This was first done successfully in Nevada and is in the process of being done in several other states. Once the district committees were in the hands of grassroots pro-liberty folks, pressure was then put on Greer and others to step down. A group of very prominent Republican donors have also "circled the wagons" in support of these actions. I have not spoken on this issue here until now as the goal was to keep it quiet so RINO or liberal opposition didn't get the idea to take similar actions. You can see for yourself here:

Crist claimed he did not know about obama's visit. Yet, e-mails revealed a very different story, on top of the fact that Crist was invited and one of his aides refused the invitation...."Gov. Charlie Crist's aides knew of Obama trip to Florida" from the Miami Herald, 11/11/09 stated:

"The Republican Crist is running for the U.S. Senate, and has drawn scrutiny for distancing

himself from Obama. The two appeared together in Fort Myers in February to celebrate the stimulus package -- an appearance that has become a liability for Crist as he faces primary challenger Marco Rubio. Crist now says he did not endorse the stimulus, even as he said it

helped bail out the state budget. When reporters in Tallahassee asked Crist whether he knew Obama was in Jacksonville, he replied: ``First I've known of that.'' This is how you can impact state and national politics beginning at the local level and working your way up. The Republican infrastructure is now receiving a good and needed house cleaning originating from your average tea party and other grassroots organizations that meet and work within their districts at the local level. DC works for Us had affiliated groups have a good plan which is worked to perfection in Nevada (meaning we should get a good candidate to run against Harry "the clansman" Reid). Rubio will be speaking at a local DC works for US in the very near future and I will be in attendance. Supposedly reps from the Crist campaign will do the same. I hope some of you can work with similar groups in your respective states so that we get real supporters of the right change in DC. I know that in Texas, such actions are being taken within the Democrat party as there are two very well funded RINOs in the Republican party so there is no room in the primary for a pro liberty candidate for governor. It does not matter to me what party the grassroots "tea party" insurrection happens in, just as long as the voters get a real choice between pro-liberty and anti-liberty (progressive) candidates. I actually still stand by my hope that a few independents get elected to the national House and Senate to truly scare both parties into representing the American people. In Florida, the best plan is the one that is being implemented which is hijacking the Republican party and driving the RINOs out. Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying and the press and politicians are trying to bury our history in a major way too. Yesterday, Michael Steele went on Fox News Sunday and made quite a strong statement about how Harry Reid's "lightskinned" comments harken back to the 1950's and 60's. Again, Steele totally botched a perfectly good opportunity to really show how totally racist those comments were and here's why. Steele should have said those comments harken back to the 1850's, not 1950's. Those comments clearly go right back to traditional antebellum southern plantation slavery. For those of you who don't know why, let me break it down for you. Within the slave trade there were different "types" of slaves that were worth different amounts of money. Now I will use the term "slave" where other more offensive terms would have originally been used as I think this is a horrible stain on our history. When slaves were traded, they had different tiers of value. For a plantation there would be slaves to work the fields, and slaves to work in the house. A typical field slave would usually be a darker skinned men, and the rule of thumb was the bigger the better. Slaves to work in the house were more often women to attend to the women of the house, but some men would work in the house too as cooks butlers, etc. A typical plantation owner did not lift a finger when a slave could do the work. A "House slave" was often chosen to be so because they were thought to be more intelligent. Such attributes that slave traders and slave owners tied to intellect were being well spoken and often lighter skinned. See for yourself:

For a century, our forefathers fought and died to end slavery and to promote equality, so that the words "All men are created equal..under God" in the Declaration of Independence and such language in the Constitution was more than just writing on a piece of paper. Yet liberal elites like Harry Reid call the masses of Americans racist with total impunity. If you weren't furious about this before I hope now you have given it a little more thought. Then to add insult to injury, Reid comes out and apologizes to mr. obama, and to "African-Americans" that may be offended, but the people that he really called racists are the rest of Americans. Now he and fellow Dems are claiming that those comments are nothing like the comments Trent Lott made regarding long time Senator Strom Thurmond's failed segregationist 1948 presidency run in 2002 that caused him to lose his speakership. Fellow race pimps like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson agree saying that Reid's liberal voting record regarding civil rights excuses him from responsibility for making such comments. LIKE HELL IT DOES!!!! I will do everything in my power to wake America up to just how gross of an insult this was, to all Americans who have bent over backwards for generations to reverse the mistakes of our forefathers.
