An Artist, A patriot, and the most beautiful paintings!!!!
No doubt that the 912 March on DC was a phenominal and historical event, especially for all of those in attendance. The lack of 'lamestream' media coverage further reinforces that their heads are, well...., where they should not be! I am no mathematician, however, I can count and I have attended enough 500,000+ person events at the Ft Lauderdale Air and Sea Shows in days gone by, several 70,000+ person Professional Football games and many 100,000+ person Rock Concerts to know that the sea of people that Marched on Washington DC on 912 was far greater than 70,000, or even hundreds of thousands, it was a million plus, and plus more. I put the number at about 2.6m, that is 2,600,000 live breathing tax paying patriots! And, if you count the masses that protested all across the country that day, and, those that were stuck on the highways leading into DC well the number swells even more. So let this stand as a correction of sorts to those that thumbed their noses at us and turned a blind eye to our protests. "We the People,...We are Back"

From where I perched on the stone monument walls that cloudy day ( just under the south end of Grants horse) I witnessed the green lawns and the granite malls fill with so many patriotic Americans that no matter what direction I looked to, north, south, east or west, was a sea of peaceful protesters, singing, chanting, waving signs and furling flags, etc......I get goose bumps just recalling the awe and exhilaration I felt then and there in the midst, and, middle of it all. One of the few published photos in the Washington papers actually has the top of my head (dont look at my roots) in the bottom of the photo. And thanks to "Bear" my traveling partner, and, Ron and Mary Rakovich for their generous accommodations, I was right smack dab in the middle of it all.
The many videos circulating and the thousands of posted photos each show a glimpse of 912, a small fraction of the million plus individuals who traveled there, each with their own message, question or concern. Each demanding to be heard and listened to. Not spoken down to or disparaged. Washington tried writing us off as Astroturf.....well I have a message for the most devicive person ever in DC ..... "I Am A 12th Generation American, my family goes all the way back to 1635, and, so help me God, DO NOT talk about me and my family in that way!"
Yes, my great,g,g,g,g,g,g,g,g,g, grandfather emigrated from the repression of England's monarhcy, loss of individual property rights and imposition of religious oppression arriving on the "Speedwell" in October 1635 (374 yrs ago) in New England. His name was Richard Smith. He became known as "BULL" Smith and he later founded Smithtown, NY on the Northshore of Long Island in 1665. Him and my other ancestors built this country before it was founded into the United States of America and they are all rolling in their graves at what is taking place in the country right here and right now. It is, therefore, incumbent upon me as their proud descendant to do something, to take charge, and make action happen.
So here I am America, I am here to do my part, to take charge of my destiny ( thats another story) and to get involved in the retaking of this great country back from the corrupt and insidious clenches of the twisted 'progressives.'
While my own history may be different than yours, we are all united on the issues and causes that are violating our constitution and belittling our bill of rights,and the out of control and wreckless spending that is bankrupting our nation into collapse. OUR issues are of equal importance to us all and will ultimately effect us all- and immeasurably so - if we do nothing. I am particularly concerned for my children and the future generations of this great nation for they are clueless as to what I see going on here. We must not become the United Socialists States of America, we must preserve the United States of America as the best and FREEIST of the FREE world.
Before I left my humble little apartment and set off with strangers for the trip to DC I said to my daughters (23 & 21 yrs) "this may be the most important thing I ever publicly do for you." And four months later after watching their mother work tirelessly, day in and day out on artwork that I was doing out of passion for my country, they are beginning to understand. Why is it taking so long for our youth to recognize what is going wrong....because the history they have been taught in school is minus a whole helluva lot of truth.

Well call me sentimental but as an artist I am often inspired by lifes experiences and moved by my emotions. I am blessed to have found some of my most worthy creativity through profound events in my life. Such is the case with my 912 experience.
With that in mind I embarked on a grand undertaking to accurately render, in pen, ink and full color, a montage of the events, venues, people, groups, messages, causes and questions representative of the 912 March on DC, that was not captured in any print media I have seen. The movement and my experience is what I wanted to preserve because we cannot count on the educators to do it, we must do it. Just as I was compelled to overcome huge obstacles just to get to DC and participate and be heard........I was compelled to do this "commemorative artwork," it is where my passion lies.
So I began sketching and I thought well maybe someone else may feel the same way, maybe there are others who are so irked by the lamestream media thumbing their noses at us and turning a blind eye towards us ( and I am not making fun of the blind by any means) that they too would want to relive this experience, perpetuate it for our posterity and remind congress, the administration and all elected officials that "We the People,...We are Back".
The "We the People,...We are Back" original is 3' high by 5' long and it contains renderings of the FreedomWorks meeting/speakers at the Armory, the Tea Party Patriots 912 Press Conference at Capitol Hill, the Physicians for Reform Rally, the FairTax rally at the IRS, and of course the 912 March on DC multiple views: West Lawn, North Lawn, South Lawn, views up Pennsylvannia Ave and East view to the Washington Monument.... I was going to solicit advertising space in the boarder because I desperately need to earn a living and then I thought more appropriately would the artwork be if it was wrapped in the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence, the beginnings of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. And, Vahwhallah I did just that. Although I remained unemployed as a displaced construction exec/business owner going on a few years now (and never eligible for unemployment) I hoped, just maybe, my fellow patriots would see that I have reinvented myself as a serious artist, maybe even as a Political Protest Artist.

There's an issue lately that I'd like to spread some awareness about. While we're all aware of the travesty of battering, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that abuse isn't only physical. Emotional and verbal abuse is equally abhorrent.
Abuse in any form is uncalled for. Abusers come in all colors, ages, and economic backgrounds. Their constant need for control over any given situation is who they are and what they do. Most of the time, the behavior stems from a need to control. Emotional and verbal abuse weapons are silence, belittling, and blame.
The cycle of abuse is the same as one who beats another. Escalation, abuse, and then a honeymoon period of "I'm sorry. I had a bad day (or just have a lot of stress, etc.)." The duration of the honeymoon phase varies, but make no mistake about it. An abuser will ALWAYS come back to repeat the cycle.
No one is perfect. The victim of an abuser has flaws just by nature of being human. But no matter the flaws, that is NO EXCUSE to be put down, emotionally torn apart, or made to feel guilty. Often, an abuser will pinpoint these flaws and use them as weapons. Self-esteem suffers, and the victim is often left feeling helpless and worthless.
So what are the signs of emotional/verbal abuse? If you think you or someone you know is in an emotionally abusive relationship, here are some questions to ask.
Do you feel that you can't discuss with your partner what is bothering you?--Are you walking on eggshells for fear of triggering a tirade?
Does your partner frequently criticize you, humiliate you, or undermine your self-esteem?--Words like "stupid","disgusting", and "What's your problem?" are red flags.
Does your partner ridicule you for expressing yourself?--Are you made to feel like your opinion makes no sense or isn't right?
Does your partner isolate you from friends, family or groups?--This is how the abuser maintains control. The amount of isolation varies, but it's still isolation.
Does your partner limit your access to work, money or material resources?--"We need to watch spending" while spending money like a sailor on shore leave.
Has your partner ever stolen from you? Or run up debts for you to handle?
Does your relationship swing back and forth between a lot of emotional distance and being very close? -- Again, the roller coaster of the abusive cycle.
Have you ever felt obligated to have sex, just to avoid an argument about it?--"Don't you love me anymore?" "You must be having an affair." These are common. A lot of abusers will use these phrases to manipulate the victim into submission.
Do you sometimes feel trapped in the relationship?--This is especially true for victims with children. They need the most support and help.
Has your partner ever thrown away your belongings, destroyed objects or threatened pets?--Your old childhood teddy bear may mean a lot to you, but the abuser sees it as trivial and worthless and won't hesitate to throw it out if they see fit.
Are you afraid of your partner?--Do you fear another argument? Do they threaten you with "what if" situations of what they'd do if you ever left? Abuse.
I hope and pray that if one victim of abuse is saved by this, that they find the happiness they truly deserve. No one deserves to be left with emotional scars that can last a lifetime.
I'm B & G, and I'm a victim of emotional and verbal abuse. There. I've said it. Now I can figure out how to heal.

According to the Washington Post, about 50 leaders of grass roots groups are meeting with RNC Chairman Michael Steele and top party “operatives” tomorrow in Washington. Karin Hoffman, the South Florida leader of DC Works for US (and a 9-12 Project member as well), is quoted in the story:
Karin Hoffman, founder of DC Works For Us, a South Florida tea party group, said she initiated the meeting by approaching Steele last month and asking him to sit down with a range of tea party organizers. She said her goal is to open a civil dialogue with the GOP leadership, but she dismissed any suggestion that tea party groups would merge with the Republican Party.
“From the get-go, the grass-roots movement emerged from people desiring to be heard and not feeling like their voices are being heard in Washington,” Hoffman said in an interview. “This is the beginning of a formal discussion with the political establishment.”
We will be bold for you and the rest of America that is tired of not being
heard.

Ed Lynch, Red Eye tomorrow night...
Local Republican candidate and associate who I am supporting for Congress, Ed Lynch will be making an appearance on "Red Eye" tomorrow night (3:00 A.M. Fox News) For those of you unfamiliar with "Red Eye", think of it as libertarian political late night comedy. Sorta like a "libertarian" Letterman, but funny, and with a slight potty mouth. Ed Lynch is running for congress in District 19,
being vacated by Robert Wexler (can we get a hooray???). Lynch is currently filling out a similar e-mail Q@A to others posted here. Already endorsed by DC works for US, and the local crew at 850A.M. led by Joyce Kaufman, (can we get another round of applause), Ed Lynch http://www.electlynch.com/ is the primary winner making him the only choice, but having looked up Mr. Lynch's records objectively, I can't find any reason to oppose him. He is campaigning as a "conservative" i.e. "tea party" Republican. The local media is running a smear campaign on Lynch right now. Given the ideological leanings of our local media, I'd be far more skeptical of him if our media supported him. Lynch also played a role in exposing Wexler's corruption. That really makes winning this this seat important to us here as it would really cement a victory for us bloggers and the conservative media. Lynch will also be speaking at C-Pac on the illegal immigration issue. If Wexlers' seat gets filled by a liberal dem, then all our work will be for nothing. Having to spoken to Lynch now several times I believe he will cause Nancy Pelosi's Botox dialysis machine to need a double dose. I hope you readers will get behind Lynch and give him any support you can both in a financially and on the blogosphere. Electing folks like Lynch into seats being vacated by "fire breathing liberals" is of the utmost importance if we want to really neuter mr. obama a.k.a. Chairman Zero. So lets get all the help we can here as you have seen what replacing one liberal with one moderate can do in the Senate, but soon we will be able to elect a whole army of pro-liberty candidates to the house and senate. Among the first of which will April 13th which will be the special election to replace Wexler. If there is anything any of you can do to help us win this seat and continue the momentum with the wins in VA, NJ, and NJ and MA, please give us Floridians, and Ed Lynch your support.

All I can say is, Welcome to the Party fellas, this gives me hope. I, like Musings, do not agree with all of their politics, and I clearly do not understand their sexual orientation, but these guys have a lot going on upstairs. They are thinking, the light is on, and they are no longer drinking the kool-aid. What is more is that they are influential. I have said for a long time what they say below, the Pro-Liberty folks are a natural fit for anyone who wants to have a live-and-let-live attitude. These guys love their country, are productive contributing members of society, and have their thinking caps on:Point One, To be Gay men in Chicago who declare war on the Democrats like this takes a lot of guts. Period.
Point two, they are for Michelle Bachmann…how can I dislike them when they clearly have such good taste in women? AND get this, they want her to be SPEAKER. I am starting to love these guys (not that way).
Point three…they loathe Barbara Boxer (supporting Chuck Devore) and detest Harry Reid.
Now if they would just realize that Hillary wants the same thing as Dr Utopia, aka Chairman Zero we would really be getting somewhere. Read it and weep democRats, the paradigm is shifting:

In our opinion, every last one of these people belongs in prison — for treason. Since we can’t make that happen, we will focus instead on defeating as many of them as we can.
As we said yesterday, looking at our resources, and our time schedule, we can commit to driving an effort behind FIVE good Republicans who can defeat bad Democrats in 2010.
One of these races is Michelle Bachmann’s. If you have any contacts with her, let her know a bunch of gay guys in Chicago want to go all-in for her. We want to make her Speaker too. We are willing to do whatever we can to make that happen.
For the other four races we want to get involved in, we want to pick four really good Republicans we believe in who will defeat Democrats that need to be made examples of.
One of those Dems is Barbara Boxer. Whomever runs against her will have our undying daily support.
We want Harry Reid defeated, but that’s going to happen without us, so we are not going to put our effort there. Part of us wants to take down Evan Bayh, just because we are so disappointed in the man for his behavior in the week before Christmas.
If ANY Democrat should have stood up and shouted down the madness of this Healthcare Rationing bill, it should have been Bayh. This is a man we like very much, on a personal level. This is a man we’ve had multiple conversations with. This is a man we would have loved to have seen become Vice President under Hillary Clinton.
But, he betrayed this country. All Democrats in the Senate did. And now he disgusts us.
We’re torn on what to do about Bayh. Indiana is so close, we could very easily get involved there. But we admit we have lingering loyalty to Bayh for how steadfast he stood with Clinton two years ago. So, he’s tabled for now.
That means two of our berths are now filled. We will be supporting:
(1) Michelle Bachmann
(2) Whomever is the nominee against Boxer (we hope it is Chuck Devore)
And the other three slots are empty.
The qualifications to earn our support are:
(1) Candidate must love America
(2) Candidate must hate socialism
(3) Candidate must not have supported Cap & Tax, the Healthcare Rationing Bill, or Dr. Utopia in any way
(4) Candidate must embrace the Tea Party movement, which we are a part of
(5) Candidate must not be evil to gays
Republicans, stop talking about gays, period. Across the board. News flash: there will always be gays. No matter how much you try to convince us otherwise, Jake Gyllenhaal is hot, Madonna is cool, and a night at Sidetracks beats just about anything else on Earth.
