The real story about Crist leaving the Republican Party

Let me say first that I am limited regarding what I can say about this due to my membership with the Local REC. I can however raise questions about why exactly Crist would run as an independent, possibly throwing the FL senatorial race to a democrat. Why would Crist do this if he is not a closet liberal (among other things)? Could this move have anything to do with Crist's cozy relationship with Obama? Was he possibly offered something such as a post in the White House to throw an election he can't possibly win? Does he realize that independents disapprove of him almost as much as Republicans because of his lack of action on necessary issues and his actions and support of issues near and dear to our favorite community organizer? I will say that I don't think that Crist will get even 10% of the vote and that the race will not be close enough for the puny vote he gets to make a difference. Between now and election time, Crist will have to announce what party he will caucas with. That will make a huge impact on how voters will feel about him going forward. Hint: There is only one party he can caucas with and that is the one in power. So, doesn't that make it more likely that Crist will split the democrat votes instead of Republican and independent (anti-Obama) votes?

Simple fact. The Republican Party is scared of the Race card and this needs to end. In the RNC, we have a total moron running up RNC credit card tabs at perv fetish nightclubs and then when people complain, he claims that he, and Obama are the victims of raaaacism. Why bring Obama into this? Why play the race card on this when this isn't about race at all unless it is really about keeping power?

Simple fact: The Republican party is scared to throw out a corrupt black man that is a disaster as a fundraiser because he is playing the race card.

An incredible moment for me was driving to the very meeting with Chairman Steele. On the way there, the Capitol building itself comes into view. It was then I could see with clarity that we all were truly making DC Work For Us.

At CPAC, we had a phenomenal opportunity to connect with many other solid grassroots organizations to forge together alliances. By doing so, our efforts and energies become the very tool that will penetrate what has, up to this point, seemed impenetrable.

Florida's great candidates, Rubio, Lynch, and West, spoke at CPAC. Lynch and Lowry spoke at XPAC, also.

2) Health Care Summit at the Blair House

This is one proposal we gave the RNC this past Tuesday. We want the Republicans to show up to the Summit. See with their own eyes the proposal of the Democrats. With all the media that is surrounding this event, take advantage of it and walk out in protest to the
un-Constitutional legislation that is proposed. Hard to imagine that it is otherwise.

DC Tea party/RNC update

Apparently the meeting between the RNC and Tea Party leaders from all over the country went well. The meeting, planned to last an hour lasted over 2. Michael Steele seemed quite conciliatory and was willing to take as many questions as the Tea Party reps could ask. Karin Hoffman, my friend from "DC works for US" who put this whole thing together opened on Greta on Fox and said she was quite happy with the results of the meeting. She swore that the "Tea Party" movement will not be co-opted by any political party and will never have an official leader as the members themselves are the leaders and that is how it will remain. That is my opinion as well so I am quite satisfied with the results of the meeting. If any of you want to send a message thanking Karin for all the work it took to organize this, I will be happy to relay them.

We have a voice in DC now!

You may or may not have heard about the meeting between top national "tea party" leaders and Michael Steele. I have some info on that front. The person who organized this meeting is none other than Karin Hoffman. Now that doesn't mean squat to most of you, but she is among the leadership of DC works for US right here in S.Florida. In recent days she has been a great inspiration to me. She has played a huge role in motivating me to get into the local political scene by supporting local candidates and getting involved in the REC. I was quite ill last week and did not realize that Karin was involved in this.

According to the Washington Post, about 50 leaders of grass roots groups are meeting with RNC Chairman Michael Steele and top party “operatives” tomorrow in Washington. Karin Hoffman, the South Florida leader of DC Works for US (and a 9-12 Project member as well), is quoted in the story:

Karin Hoffman, founder of DC Works For Us, a South Florida tea party group, said she initiated the meeting by approaching Steele last month and asking him to sit down with a range of tea party organizers. She said her goal is to open a civil dialogue with the GOP leadership, but she dismissed any suggestion that tea party groups would merge with the Republican Party.

“From the get-go, the grass-roots movement emerged from people desiring to be heard and not feeling like their voices are being heard in Washington,” Hoffman said in an interview. “This is the beginning of a formal discussion with the political establishment.”

I was quite ill last week and did not realize that Karin was involved in this. When I found out, I sent Karin this e-mail wishing her luck:

"I was sick and had no clue it was you going to see Mr. Steele in DC. I saw a story on the news that "tea party leaders" were going to meet Steele but I am just getting over my cold and didn't pay much attention. While I have not known you that long, I can honestly say that there is nobody I'd rather have speaking for me as I know you speak your mind. I hope Steele listens to you and whoever is with you. I can only imagine how much work you put in doing all this. Know that it is appreciated by both me and tea party friends from all over the country."

Karin sent this reply this morning:

"Thank you Andrew.

We will be bold for you and the rest of America that is tired of not being
heard.

Your words are an encouragement to me, especially today. Press conference
to follow.

Trust me when I tell you that Karin speaks her mind. I did a blog post for their site when I was sick and it was full of mistakes and Karin took me to task on it. She did not know I was sick, but does know I can do better and made it clear that I need to. That was good constructive criticism and she was right. She most definitely spoke her mind, just as she does at DC works for US meetings. Something tells me Steele will be happy when this meeting is over.

Extreme Congressional Makeover

I was in the middle of writing my own post (seriously) congratulating the pResident for his handling of the Christmas terrorist (man made disaster attempt) when this popped intomy e-mail box. This is exactly the type of reform I think we all can agree would put Capitol Hill back in the hands of the people which means that they will never do this as long as current leadership runs things unless Americans were acting much more like the Iranian young people are towards their government.

We as a nation are not at that point yet, but looking back at our own past, in the early 1770's, the population of the British colonies that later formed the early United States considered themselves loyal British Americans. Look at how fast that changed because of government that did not listen to the people and kept pushing and pushing its way into peoples' lives.In just a few years, laws preventing new property ownership by moving west,increasing taxes and forcing homeowners to house and pay for the British Army. Then as now, early protests started peaceful gatherings, boycotting of British goods etc. People were meeting in other's homes or local taverns to talk politics, and occasionally gathering in larger groups to to protest to the British installed governor. I have recently been attending local meetings of a very similar nature in peoples' homes, restaurants and bars of variousgroups that are either directly related or indirectly related to the 9/12 project. Knowing how history repeats itself, I can see how this movement could very rapidly morph into something far differentand I sense in those gatherings an attitude that the clock is set for the 2010 elections and if big changes don't happen with and soon after the midterm elections, tensions in this country will boil over very quickly. So enough history and check out the idea for how to begin fixing Congress the right way this time.

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS

This is a very good foundation on what should be the "new Contract with America."The first contract failed because it did not focus on reforming the rules allowing corruption within Congress itself. Instead it focused on what the new party in power would do differently. The rules of what could and couldn't be done did not change, so the same corruption that forced the Dems out in 93 slowly infected the Republican party then in power. Then those very Republicans became so drunk on their own power, that they tried to impeach a popular sitting President rather than waiting until he was out of office in two years to press charges, causing the loss of the leadership that was keeping things in line and from there, the Republicans started acting more and more like Democrats, why? Because they could and there was a pervasive attitude that the only other choice was voting for big government Democrats and the American people would NEVER do that...so here we sit today with two Democrat parties and a plurality of Americans as registered independents who in polling want a third party and are very dissatisfied with the direction the country is going. As for myself, I think that the Republicans could become that third party by first apologizing to the American people for the mistakes while in power which opened the door Dems and their current attitude that they can do whatever they want and not be noticed by the American people. Then as now, early protests started peaceful gatherings, boycotting of British goods etc. People were meeting in other's homes or local taverns to talk politics, and occasionally gathering in larger groups to to protest to the British installed governor. I have recently been attending local meetings of a very similar nature in peoples' homes, restaurants and bars of variousgroups that are either directly related or indirectly related to the 9/12 project. Knowing how history repeats itself, I can see how this movement could very rapidly morph into something far differentand I sense in those gatherings an attitude that the clock is set for the 2010 elections and if big changes don't happen with and soon after the midterm elections, tensions in this country will boil over very quickly. This is a very good foundation on what should be the "new Contract with America."The first contract failed because it did not focus on reforming the rules allowing corruption within Congress itself. Instead it focused on what the new party in power would do differently. The rules of what could and couldn't be done did not change, so the same corruption that forced the Dems out in 93 slowly infected the Republican party then in power. Then those very Republicans became so drunk on their own power, that they tried to impeach a popular sitting President rather than waiting until he was out of office in two years to press charges, causing the loss of the leadership that was keeping things in line and from there, the Republicans started acting more and more like Democrats, why? Because they could and there was a pervasive attitude that the only other choice was voting for big government Democrats and the American people would NEVER do that...so here we sit today with two Democrat parties and a plurality of Americans as registered independents who in polling want a third party and are very dissatisfied with the direction the country is going. As for myself, I think that the Republicans could become that third party by first apologizing to the American people for the mistakes while in power which opened the door Dems and their current attitude that they can do whatever they want and not be noticed by the American people. Extreme Congressional Makeover

I was in the middle of writing my own post (seriously) congratulating the pResident for his handling of the Christmas terrorist (man made disaster attempt) when this popped intomy e-mail box. This is exactly the type of reform I think we all can agree would put Capitol Hill back in the hands of the people which means that they will never do this as long as current leadership runs things unless Americans were acting much more like the Iranian young people are towards their government.

We as a nation are not at that point yet, but looking back at our own past, in the early 1770's, the population of the British colonies that later formed the early United States considered themselves loyal British Americans. Look at how fast that changed because of government that did not listen to the people and kept pushing and pushing its way into peoples' lives.In just a few years, laws preventing new property ownership by moving west,increasing taxes and forcing homeowners to house and pay for the British Army.
