Depression!

The media is not saying it, but deep down we all know it's true. Yes, it's the "D" word. Recently, Ben (Beavis) Bernanke; head of the international criminal bankers organization (you probably know it as the FED) announced that "the recession is over." I actually agreed but not for the reason given by the DC mafia. The recession IS over because The Depression has set in. Making matters worse, 4 senate Rinos and the entire communist party voted for "the financial reform bill." Does anybody reading this believe that nationalizing my credit union (I refuse to set foot in banks)? Consider this, when you deposit money in a credit union, you become "part owner" in the Credit Union. Now, the same rules have been put on my Credit Union (which had no "toxic assets") as banks that recieved Tarp nationalization. Rumor has it, wording was snuck into the "financial reform" bill that will allow the government to raid 401k retirement funds as well. I guess that they will nationalize my toilet tomorrow because after GM, Chrysler, the banks (big and small), the healthcare industry, the Internet (under net neutrality), the EPA cracking down on breathing, etc...what's left? "Land of the free"-my big fat asphalt!!! The only thing that's free anymore is air (but that's about to change), right? Yesterday, the mafia Director of Intellegence" was given a pink slip. It's not like anything will change. The (former) Director of Intelligence will be doing the same thing today that he did everyday since he was hired...nothing. There is no intelligence in the regime to direct. President Crackhead eliminated all intelligence in our government via his "czars." There are some people that have the "Midas touch". That is where anything such a person gets his hands on seems to turn to gold. The puppet currently occupying the White House has the "Hanky touch." That is where anything you touch turns to a turd. President Crackhead has touched a large part of our economy. Meanwhile, the media is trying to polish a giant turd by hiding the fact that we are in financial collapse...likely a depression that will make the 1930s look like the 1980s. The sad fact is we are bringing the rest of the world into this depression as well. The entire world uses our currency and we, through financial as well as diplomatic foreign policy have filled the world with and supported tinhorn dictators. Now we have one too...and an economic depression too. This is not the first time we have been in that situation. We had similar economic and social decay when Woodrow Wilson and FDR (both dictators for life). We also had two world wars during those years. Unfortunately, now we and many other nations have the military capacity to end all life on Earth. I also believe the commander in chief of our military would not hesitate to, nor feel remorse for using our nuclear capacity on his greatest enemy..us. That would bring about a "fundamental transformation. Depressed yet???

Suspension of Air Traffic Could Raise Temperatures Across Europe

Colder Hotter Volcano Jet Exhaust Jet Contrails

Found this over at Coffee Milk Conservative: Suspension of Air Traffic Could Raise Temperatures Across Europe, I just started following her blog and have added her to the blogroll.  She is a reformed Leftie, so we know it can be done.

As the drumbeat for Cap and Tax starts up again it is important not to forget how silly the whole Anthropogenic Climate Change argument has become and this post highlights that very well.  Apparently Air Traffic cools the planet.  Who knew?  The little vapor trails off of airplanes actually make temperatures go down planet wide (OH, COME ON!)

Correlation is not the same as Causation.  Grounding planes after 9/11 did not change WEATHER and it damn sure did not change CLIMATE. Following this logic I could say this: “ I ate a peanut butter sandwich yesterday and the sun shone all day long; therefore eating PB sandwiches makes the weather sunny and bright”. Secondly the GIANT ASH CLOUD *should* make it slightly, if not quite a bit, COOLER; despite the lack of contrails off of airplanes “making it hotter” (never mind that according to their standard fantasies jet exhaust makes the planet hotter).  So I guess the question in their minds (as if they used their minds to question anything) is:  Will the Man Made warming caused by Jet Exhaust be completely counteracted by the cooling effect of the Volcano (I am waiting for them to figure out a reason for the volcano eruption to be man-caused), and will the absence of the Jet Contrail water vapor contribute to more of a warming effect that the absence of jet exhaust will contribute to a cooling effect?   OH MY DEAR LORD -

Anyway, read on:

According to a report in the UK Mail online, the widespread grounding of planes in Europe – due to the eruption of Iceland’s Mount Eyjafjallajokull – could lead to an increase in temperatures across that continent. From the article:

A study conducted after commercial flights were grounded for three days following the September 11 terror attacks found the average daily temperature range in the U.S. rose markedly - exceeding the three-day periods before and after by 1.8c. (or it could have been all that fuel that caught fire… big fire you know, could have made it warmer- hey it is more plausible than their ridiculous “theory”)
The grounding of flights in 2001 gave scientists a 'tarnished but golden opportunity' to study the impact that jet planes have on the climate. (WEATHER WEATHER WEATHER, and the answer is: imperceptible)
They matched the weather over those three days with similar weather in September over that period, and found that the difference in daily high and nightly low temperatures in the absence of planes' contrails was more than 1c greater. (also in the absence of Unicorns, meteor showers, UFO landings, all manner of things that also have no effect on the temperature)
Scientists claimed this showed that clouds formed by the water vapour in the exhaust from jet planes have a small but significant effect on daily temperatures. (one degree C = 1.8 (+32) degree F, really?  jet contrails impact national temperature daily by two degrees?)
The researchers said that in regions with crowded skies, the clouds formed by the planes' water vapour worked like cirrus clouds to prevent days from getting too hot and trapping the Earth's heat at night.

I thought the carbon emissions produced by jet fuel contributed to global warming? Now I find out that water vapor – a byproduct of jet fuel combustion – helps to moderate the earth's temperature. Do you ever get the feeling that some people want to have it both ways?

Drill baby Drill...

985-obama-dr-evil2  Today, in a total change of direction, mr. obama announced increases in permits to be allowed for oil exploration. Is this a victory for common sense? Has obama really decided to tell his environazi base to go chop down a tree? Should middle America jump for joy as our fearless leader has grown some common sense? Absolutely not and here's why.

First, here are the areas he opened and closed up:

39950_drilling-areas I do not know how much oil anyone thinks is off the coast of Delaware or South Carolina, maybe they think there is a lot.  Environmentalists and Conservationists both seem to be happy about the removal of the Bristol Bay area for exploration because it is the best fishing in the entire country, and to look at that map you would think, “so what it is a small area”. Think again, it is the size of the Texas pan- handle, or maybe as large as Virginia.  Oil exploration and oil production and Fishing and enjoyment our natural wildlife are not mutually exclusive no matter what those environutters say.  It is not as if once there is an oil well all wildlife dies, in fact in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Tx fishing around the oil platforms is where the best action is.Alaska_-_Lower_48

I think it is important to point out.  Obama did not open up oil     D-R-I-L-L-I-N-G ;

he opened up oil     L-O-O-K-I-N-G.

This:                                                                  Not this:

feature_pinnacle

oil-drilling

Also, any benefits to exploration allowed in this proposal won't be seen until after obama is long gone.  One has to wonder if this is some sort of first step to nationalization of the Oil Industry a’ la’ Chavez.  The oil companies better read the (new) leases with the hubble space telescope sized magnifying glass.  Beware the fine print.  I have yet to hear anyone else mention this notion but with the banks, car companies, and now the healthcare system, obama says he has no desire to control such companies, but he has yet to give up even 1% control of any private entity or industry that the federal government has taken over. So when the regime starts talking about getting it's fingers in the energy business, I get concerned that those fingers will ultimately belong to the hand of the grand puppeteer.  After all, that has been the means that this regime has used to gain control of everything else it has touched, right?

So, there is a lot of oil that we a) already know is down there; and b) are not allowed to drill for; while we have oil and know where it is, the administration is proud to tell us that they are going to start thinking, and looking, and studying, and they are going to start doing all that thinking, and looking, and studying real, real soon.

Meanwhile we are left with  wishin’, and hopin’, and prayin’, and dreamin’ and  wantin’.

Just like always.

Back from the dead: Rise of the States' rights movement

states rights2 I have been silent for the last several days while the 24 hr. news cycle has been locked on the Healthcare debacle bill. There is one issue that has emerged which had been largely buried with the civil war. that issue is the matter of "States rights" over Federal Power. The issue that sparked the Civil War was the belief among Southern Americans that States' rights to self determination (which in this case was the right to legalize slavery) took precedent over the Federal Government's right to control state regulations. While it is my opinion that slavery of any kind is UnConstitutional which takes precedent over all legislation whether State or Federal, there is a clear pattern of a gradual power grab by the Federal Government since postwar reconstruction. This power grab has been led by BOTH parties starting with the corrupt management of reconstruction, leading to prohibition, through the "New"states-rights a.k.a "Raw" Deal under FDR, all the way to the most recent "Patriot Act", Prescription drug legislation, TARP, and now the 2 largest power grabs by the Federal Government ever, Obamacare and Crap and Tax (Cap and Trade).
However, There is a mad rush of States, 34 so far are at various stages of passing various forms of legislation to block parts or all of the Obama healthcare destruction bill. I am inserting my opinion here by saying that so many states would not be passing such legislation unless they are getting huge opposition form constituents regarding the passage of this so called bill. I am quite surprised that Congress and the President doesn't see the opposition at the state level and realize that the only result of passing this legislation (when they actually come up with real legislation) will be (to quote that loon Massa) tearing this nation apart.
I will say again, that I think this vote is dangerous and could cause the so called peaceful anti-tax, anti federal government movement to go very quickly from a peaceful movement to something far worse. America be warned.

This is a story nearly as old as time itself

Tyranny It really all comes down to who knows better.  It is the same story that most of you are familiar with as being told by Braveheart.  The Scots-Irish is the culture that more than any other begat the USA.   It goes way, way back to the time of the Romans several years before Christ’s birth, but really takes off not long after his death.  The Roman army conquered the south end of England but was never able to really take the north because there were crazy people up there who fought like madmen and painted themselves blue, they were called Picts.  They refused to bend a knee to a far away authority.  Their culture was based on family ties, personal honor, and leadership was only accepted after it had been earned.  Allegiance was to the most local level.  In AD 122 Hadrian began construction of a wall between the ‘civilized’ part of the island and the wild north. Kings tried again and again for literally hundreds of years to bring these ‘savages’ into line.  They map_ireland_england burned whole towns, slaughtered them in droves but never, eva, eva, won.  These people had freedom hard wired into their DNA.  The Scottish ‘nobles’ eventually were bought off and became ‘civilized’ to the British way of thinking, but still the people themselves never submitted.  They did not view allegiance the same way as the Brits. The British view was of wealth and property, poor people owed their allegiance to their rich ‘betters’.  Scotsmen knew in their hearts every man, prince or pauper, was free, and as stated before their allegiance was to their Kin, then their Clan, then their neighbor clan. They were not isolationists like the gypsies, did not have a class caste system like the rest of Europe, and they freely intermarried with other groups, who then became Scots.  This is what we think of as  a “grassroots” organization now. Their religious affiliation was Protestant and they were some of the first.  The Brits had always also had difficulty with the Irish, for differing but similar reasons.  They decided getting the Scots to move into Ireland would allow them to take both Ireland and Scotland in time.  Bad plan.  Many Scots moved to Ireland in the Ulster Plantation under a colonization plan dreamt up by the Brits.  Soon the Irish and the Scots were fighting each other…when they weren’t both killing the English.  The Irish and the Scots had similar views on Freedom, but differing views on Religion.  Then the first colonization of North America began.  Some Scots-Irish left Ulster to come to the “new world”  with puritans_71107 the Puritans thinking they too could have religious freedom, and to their way of thinking they were protestants just like the Puritans.  Not true.  The Puritans idea of religious freedom was that everyone should be ‘free’ to worship as the Puritans did (Everyone was entitled to their opinion, as long as it was the Puritan opinion).

appalachia6  Scots again refused to be assimilated, and were pushed further west into the Appalachian mountains, which was similar to throwing Brer Rabbit into the Briar Patch.  More Scots came and they stayed in the Mountains, moving South all the while. They intermarried and had lots and lots of little Scots-Irish babies (up to 40% higher birthrates than other immigrants at the time).  Ohio was opened for settlement and by this time the Native Americans or “Indians” were wise to this tide of white men and so began killing of the more gentrified of the English settlers…  The aristocracy in Britain thought they knew just the people to send over to make the Indians lives rough…the Scots.  They sent Scotsmen literally by the boatload to cheap land on the wild western frontiers as as a buffer between “Civilization”  and the “Indians”.  The Scots did as predicted and more.  The Scots kept coming, causing at least one wealthy landowner in England to lament (paraphrasing) “why are we letting them move if it is only so that they can have a better life, how does that profit us?” because he was losing too many tenants on his vast landholdings. The Scots kept pushing the Indians, and still managed to cause problems with their more ‘enlightened, wealthy, and civilized betters’  When the American Revolution began many in England saw it as nothing more than just one more Scottish rebellion, some called it exactly that.  The vast majority of the Scots stayed out of Militia_Shooting2 the fray until the English using their typical bullying tactics that had so enraged Scotsmen for eons, really went too far.  Then buckskin Scots came down out of the hills near Kings Mountain and destroyed an entire British Loyalist force 10 to 1.  Then they did it again at Cowpens, which the Brits never recovered from, ending in their defeat at Yorktown.  The Scots refused to bend a knee, and the USA was born. Down through the ages, the Scots-Irish CULTURE, meaning not only those people descended from the Scots, but also those who became culturally inseparable from the Scots,  have fought in more battles and done more to defend Freedom than any other group of people.  They have given us most of our  presidents (61%), many of our founding fathers were Scotsmen by birth or culture.

The battle is the same today in the 21st century. The Puritans, the Elite, Our Betters, the Democrats, the proponents of European Socialism believe they know better than us.  Us, of the Mountains of Appalachia, the Carolinas, descendents of the first settlers of Ky, TN, TX, AR, and the Missouri Ozarks and all points West.  Our ancestors were at the forefront of the frontier and settled the West because no one else was tough enough, crazy enough restless enough to do it.  They were always fighting and moving to try to keep their individual freedoms, to be LEFT ALONE.  Today we are called Hillbillies, Rednecks, Rubes, Hicks, Uneducated and Unenlightened.  We are the faceless ignorant electorate, “those People” in the “Flyover”.  What we really are is the Poor but Proud, the  Entrepreneurs, The self made men and women  who frickin run this country, just like our ancestors.

We don’t want this BS you call healthcare reform, or Cap and Trade or whatever  else you want to call your naked power grabs. We do not want you to pass it so we can see what is in it.  We don’t believe that when the economy recovers we will look back and see that passing Obamacare was the right thing to do.  We don’t think you know better than us.

You. Are. Not. Our. Rulers.

ALL YOU ARE DOING IS SEALING YOUR FATE, WE WILL NOT BEND A KNEE FOR OUR BETTERS.  YOU ARE DONE.

I swear to God, if you do not get a clue,  one day you may look out the window of your ivory tower up there and see a bunch of people getting out of big 4x4 trucks with their bodies painted Blue, sporting John Deere caps, Carrying broadswords and deer rifles, with wild hair and crazed looks in their eyes, just doing what  they have done for centuries.  Kickin your ass.

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - A liquor store in Alaska has put a former vice president on ice.

A 2-ton ice sculpture of Al Gore now sits outside Thrifty Liquor in Fairbanks. The pair who crafted the sculpture said they designed the piece to get Gore's attention. They said they want the vice president to visit so he can discuss global warming.

"We just would like Mr. Gore to realize that there isn't hot water coming out of both caps here, it's pretty cold here in the winter still," said Craig Compeau.

"While Steve Bean was carving this, it was 32 below. So it still gets cold and we just question some of the motives on the whole man-made global warming theory. We're sure that there is a little something to it. We just disagree with the extent of man on the whole big picture."

"Frozen Gore" was made to appear as if he is spouting hot air. The store put up a similar statue last year.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported that the hot air effect works thanks to a system that pipes the exhaust from a Ford F-350 out of Gore's open mouth. Compeau will fire up the truck periodically this winter to create the effect.

The store posted pictures of the sculpture up on their Web site. The owner claims the site has attracted over a million hits.

I enhanced the pic slightly so you could see the steam blowing from his mouth. Makes it look very authentic. I saw and copied this off fox news to make the plaigerizer haters happy.

as we all freeze to death...

I found these two stories on Accuweather.com's climate blog. I am now plaigerizing them for your reading enjoyment as I try to type this while I can't feel my fingers (no heat inside here in Florida and it's *&%$#@! COLD! 30's and 40's may sound great to the rest of you but when you have no heat and have not felt such temps in many years it's cold) So where's Al Gore now? What about Copenhagen? I previously joked about God's sense of humor regarding this but it's getting a tad out of hand with frost on my car and in my yard and becoming an early morning norm and no change in sight.

This is just what the CIA needs to be doing now, right?

Climate Scientists and CIA Collaboration Revived

Climate scientists are once again collaborating with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in effort to use their assets such as spy satellites and classified sensors to study changes in clouds, Arctic sea ice, glaciers, deserts and tropical forests, according to a New York Times article.

The C.I.A. runs the program and arranges for the scientists to draw on federal surveillance equipment, including highly classified satellites of the National Reconnaissance Office.

The Bush administration had previously shut down this collaboration.

Scientists, Dr. Norbert Untersteiner, a professor at the University of Washington who specializes in polar ice said, "have no way to send out 500 people" across the top of the world to match the intelligence gains, adding that the new understandings might one day result in ice forecasts, in a statement to the Times.

About 60 scientists -- mainly from academia but including some from industry and federal agencies-- run the effort's scientific side. All have secret clearances. They obtain guidance from the National Academy of Sciences, an elite body that advises the federal government, according to the New York Times.

Ralph J. Cicerone, president of the National Academy of Sciences and a member of the monitoring team, said to the Times that the program was "basically free."

Dr. Untersteiner of the University of Washington said to the NYT that in June the government posted some imagery results from that assessment on the Web sites of the United StatesGeological Survey (USGS) in an area known as the Global Fiducials Library, which advertises itself as an archive of intelligence images from scientifically important sites.

Airborne Fraction of Man-Made Atmospheric CO2 has not Increased in past 150 Years

A recent study from the University of Bristol (UK) by Wolfgang Knorr suggests that the airborne fraction of man-made carbon dioxide (CO2) has not increased during the past 150 years.

Knorr reanalyzed atmospheric CO2 and emissions data since 1850 and considers uncertainties in the data, according to ScienceDaily.

It is shown that with those uncertainties, the trend in the airborne fraction since 1850 has been 0.7 +/- 1.4% per decade, or close to and not significantly different from zero (no trend). I would like to know what those uncertainties are.

Only 40-45% of emitted CO2 stays in the atmosphere, according to the Knorr report. But, other recent studies suggest the possibility that the oceans and terrestrial ecosystems have started loosing part of their ability to sequester a large proportion of the anthropogenic CO2 emissions.

Climate models currently assume that the amount of airborne CO2 from man-made emissions is increasing and will continue to do so, which is a key part of their long term predictions.

The research is published in Geophysical Research Letters.

Update: A friend has kindly supplied the link to the full study.

Also, I apologize for the misleading title. I try to keep the titles as short as possible for space reasons, but doing that sometimes causes trouble and a completely misleading statement. My apologies for my sloppy effort. I have changed the title. Brett.

So where's ALGOREnow? Maybe he could come here and talk to warm my numb fingers while I type (and listen to music through headphones to drown out his idiotic words.) Just in case you don't believe I plaigerized these, here's the link so you can read them for yourselves and double check to make sure I didn't change anything!!http://global-warming.accuweather.com/
