Suspension of Air Traffic Could Raise Temperatures Across Europe

Colder Hotter Volcano Jet Exhaust Jet Contrails

Found this over at Coffee Milk Conservative: Suspension of Air Traffic Could Raise Temperatures Across Europe, I just started following her blog and have added her to the blogroll.  She is a reformed Leftie, so we know it can be done.

As the drumbeat for Cap and Tax starts up again it is important not to forget how silly the whole Anthropogenic Climate Change argument has become and this post highlights that very well.  Apparently Air Traffic cools the planet.  Who knew?  The little vapor trails off of airplanes actually make temperatures go down planet wide (OH, COME ON!)

Correlation is not the same as Causation.  Grounding planes after 9/11 did not change WEATHER and it damn sure did not change CLIMATE. Following this logic I could say this: “ I ate a peanut butter sandwich yesterday and the sun shone all day long; therefore eating PB sandwiches makes the weather sunny and bright”. Secondly the GIANT ASH CLOUD *should* make it slightly, if not quite a bit, COOLER; despite the lack of contrails off of airplanes “making it hotter” (never mind that according to their standard fantasies jet exhaust makes the planet hotter).  So I guess the question in their minds (as if they used their minds to question anything) is:  Will the Man Made warming caused by Jet Exhaust be completely counteracted by the cooling effect of the Volcano (I am waiting for them to figure out a reason for the volcano eruption to be man-caused), and will the absence of the Jet Contrail water vapor contribute to more of a warming effect that the absence of jet exhaust will contribute to a cooling effect?   OH MY DEAR LORD -

Anyway, read on:

According to a report in the UK Mail online, the widespread grounding of planes in Europe – due to the eruption of Iceland’s Mount Eyjafjallajokull – could lead to an increase in temperatures across that continent. From the article:

A study conducted after commercial flights were grounded for three days following the September 11 terror attacks found the average daily temperature range in the U.S. rose markedly - exceeding the three-day periods before and after by 1.8c. (or it could have been all that fuel that caught fire… big fire you know, could have made it warmer- hey it is more plausible than their ridiculous “theory”)
The grounding of flights in 2001 gave scientists a 'tarnished but golden opportunity' to study the impact that jet planes have on the climate. (WEATHER WEATHER WEATHER, and the answer is: imperceptible)
They matched the weather over those three days with similar weather in September over that period, and found that the difference in daily high and nightly low temperatures in the absence of planes' contrails was more than 1c greater. (also in the absence of Unicorns, meteor showers, UFO landings, all manner of things that also have no effect on the temperature)
Scientists claimed this showed that clouds formed by the water vapour in the exhaust from jet planes have a small but significant effect on daily temperatures. (one degree C = 1.8 (+32) degree F, really?  jet contrails impact national temperature daily by two degrees?)
The researchers said that in regions with crowded skies, the clouds formed by the planes' water vapour worked like cirrus clouds to prevent days from getting too hot and trapping the Earth's heat at night.

I thought the carbon emissions produced by jet fuel contributed to global warming? Now I find out that water vapor – a byproduct of jet fuel combustion – helps to moderate the earth's temperature. Do you ever get the feeling that some people want to have it both ways?

If you Give a Mouse a Cookie…

mouse_325 Why is it so difficult for people, who admit to seeing what the goons in the District of Criminals are doing, to believe that those in DC will do MORE?  The answer is twofold, on one hand people Project their desires onto politicians and demand their pet cause be addressed, on the other hand when no limits are set and different voices call for different things and those in power get away with whatever they try then they begin to feel there are  no limits; indeed functionally there aren’t any.

First let us understand that once the District of Criminals is given the power to do one thing, they will do more.  Allow them to tax your property; soon they will tax your income. Allow them to tax your income; soon they will tax your benefits.  Allow them to provide your healthcare; they will feel compelled to control unhealthy things. Allow them to control the “unhealthy things” and soon everything will be declared “unhealthy”.

More, more, more, more, more, more, more.rat_2

They forget to declare a nanny or a gardener’s wages; and we do nothing.  So they or the next guy forgets he has a house in the Bahamas or in Ireland; and we do nothing. So then the other guy forgets to pay his taxes that he was reimbursed for anyway; and he gets promoted.  So then they up the ante again, and again, and again.  No limit.

A man associates with terrorists, thugs, and thieves, and we turn a blind eye; so why wouldn’t he think it was Ok to appoint some of those associates to positions in his administration?  He says that we are “five days away from fundamentally transforming this Nation” and we do nothing; then why would he not then think it was fine to go ahead and do that?  People didn’t listen and didn’t hear what he said, they heard what they wanted him to say.  They projected their and desires and beliefs onto him…

Once a person realizes that they have no limits placed on what they can do, it fans the flames on their desires and dreams. Once a person has demonstrated that they have no limits in area A; we must realize that they also have no limits in Area B.

Hypothetically let’s say I am an advocate of Gun Control.  I think all guns should be banned.  Once the government enacts that ban, why should I think they would not attempt to control something else?  The next person advocates for stricter drug laws, and so on and so on. That is to say, once we allow the government to control one thing; they will naturally think it is ok to control another thing.  I do not advocate anarchy; but we must take special care and be more vigilant, realizing that when we give government the power to control one thing we as individuals think is good, someone else also has pet causes and issues that we may not share. The resultant message that a politician gets is that the people as a whole want him to control many many things…and there are no limits.

Here is the human failure that allowed BHO and his merry band of radical criminals in control of this nation:

XmascandycanePeople want to project their values on likeable or public figures.  BHO said some nonsensical fluff but people HEARD what they wanted to hear.  BHO and Botoxi and Dingy Harry have demonstrated no limits to what they will attempt, because the people have not enforced any.  Yet, people project their own values onto them.  They say “surely they wouldn’t do that”, when nothing that these goons have done would logically lead us to believe that they indeed would not do that; quite the opposite, we have seen no evidence that they would limit themselves in any way.  But  we have consciences and limits and  we  would not dream of such illicit, unethical, or amoral behavior, so  we  project our values on people who have no such constraints, and indeed have not been taught those constraints by any experience they have had with we the people

If you give a mouse a cookie, he is going to want a glass of milk.  If you get him a glass of milk, he will want a straw, and if you give him a straw he will want a napkin to wipe his mouth.  If you give him a napkin to wipe his mouth; he will want a mirror…

My pet cause and my desire is for government to get out of my life, and to how-to-draw-jerry-the-mouse-from-tom-and-jerry-tutorial-drawing_copyleave me alone. Many people may say this, but the difference between me and a lot of people is not only do I want them out of MY life I want them out of your life as well; many people want them in your life, but out of theirs

The Goracle became the "Goricicle"

Al Gore Ice Sculpture Created in Alaska

Updated: Thursday, 07 Jan 2010, 2:12 PM EST

From MyFox National Reports

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - A liquor store in Alaska has put a former vice president on ice.

A 2-ton ice sculpture of Al Gore now sits outside Thrifty Liquor in Fairbanks. The pair who crafted the sculpture said they designed the piece to get Gore's attention. They said they want the vice president to visit so he can discuss global warming.

"We just would like Mr. Gore to realize that there isn't hot water coming out of both caps here, it's pretty cold here in the winter still," said Craig Compeau.

"While Steve Bean was carving this, it was 32 below. So it still gets cold and we just question some of the motives on the whole man-made global warming theory. We're sure that there is a little something to it. We just disagree with the extent of man on the whole big picture."

"Frozen Gore" was made to appear as if he is spouting hot air. The store put up a similar statue last year.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported that the hot air effect works thanks to a system that pipes the exhaust from a Ford F-350 out of Gore's open mouth. Compeau will fire up the truck periodically this winter to create the effect.

The store posted pictures of the sculpture up on their Web site. The owner claims the site has attracted over a million hits.

I enhanced the pic slightly so you could see the steam blowing from his mouth. Makes it look very authentic. I saw and copied this off fox news to make the plaigerizer haters happy.

I don't even want to debate the Goracle

I just want him to answer one. Just one. Tiny. Simple. Easy. Question. To. My. Satisfaction.

And before I pose my little question let me say that it is not a particularly complex question. Surely a man with the power and wisdom that the leader of the church of global warming, the grand panjandrum of all things green, knower of all things man made and evil, keeper of the gates of cap and tax redemption, holder of the Oscar for best documentary, recipient of the Nobel peace prize, surely he of all people is qualified to answer my One. Tiny. Question.

So, ahem, here goes, "Lord Master Goracle, high priest of the church of Anthropogenic Climate Change pray tell me:

What is the correct thermostat setting for this planet?"

That is it, that is all I want to know. See, I live in southwest Missouri and being that I am rather well insulated I prefer my seasonal temps not to rise much above 85. On the low side I am prepared to go down to the teens. Now remember that the relative humidity here is rather 'moist' shall we say.

AD33 is from Florida and so I would wager that he would much prefer an overall warmer climate with less colder temperatures and although the humidity is high the ocean breeze keeps it very nice.

Kmbr on the other hand hails from sunny Arizona. She loves her tank tops and flip flops (all forty pairs or so it is my understanding) normal for her is likely to begin in the low eighties and range to well over one hundred with nearly zero humidity. That would be fairly normal for her. I would die a sweaty death living in Arizona.

Crops thrive in a warmer climate with long growing seasons. This is what humans would call a heat wave usually.

The only thing constant about our planet is change. So, what is "normal"? Was the earth normal at creation where geology suggests it was a hot volcanic maelstrom? Was it normal during the age of dinosaurs when much of North America was an inland sea? Was it normal when the wooly mammoths roamed the glaciers here in Missouri?
Was it normal in the year I was born to have almost two feet of snow in southeast Missouri? Was it normal last year when a devastating ice storm hit all of the Midwest? Will it be normal in 20, 50, or 100 years when warming period happens again? You bet it will. Because we are not even significant enough to be a speck in this universe. Despite what some overly educated morons claim I am pretty sure solar activity does play a role in the temperature of the earth.

So, Al, what temperature do you want the earth to be? How much ice pack and rainfall and cloud cover, and sunlight and darkness is the right mixture? Get back to me when the climate apostles gin up the data.

Oh I am sure you would spout off some nonsense, it is not as if you worry about being factual.

Is it really about the earth or is it because due to your bloviating and histrionics you are likely to be the first "green" billionaire?

Tiny.

The Rational Jingo: COP15 Morons On Parade

Ditto…Just Ditto…

COP15 Morons On Parade

I am seeing pictures and hearing reports coming out of the Global Tyranny, Fake Climate Conference and I have to say, I do not know what is more bizarre: What is going on with the elites inside the conference; or what is going on with the drones outside the conference. I keep seeing signs that say "Fuck the System". Um, yeah… sparky, you are the system's wet dream walking around in Copenhagen’s drizzle all pumped up on "climate justice". Whatever that is.  Apparently this is another popular catch phrase in barista land. Someone, please, remove the word “justice” from their new unabridged PC versions of Mao's Little Red Book.

Let's keep in mind, most of these "protestors" come from Scandinavian and Western European countries. Are they really that eager to pay $50 for a hamburger? What, the $25 they are currently paying is not enough?  Who and what exactly are they protesting?

The globalist elites are there working to usher in their dream of a one world government, communist utopia. Apparently it is what they want. Stores devoid of goods to buy and lots of time off. So, why the protests? It seems they are in agreement. They wish to be subjects in a feudalist society and the UN and WTO toadies inside seek to do nothing more than accommodate their every wish. Who is it, I wonder, that they think is going to pay for "climate justice". Hint it won't be the bankers, the elites or anyone in that conference. It will be the jackasses outside the conference and their families.

I don't see the debate. What's the problem?

Maybe they need to do a better job at articulating just what it is they want and they better do it quickly. If this treaty gets signed, the days of jet setting around the globe to attend protests will be coming to a close. In fact, the days of jetting off anywhere will become so prohibitively expensive, at best they will be able to tell their grandkids about the days when air travel was cheap enough for the common man. Of course, that is if they have grandkids, with the new population controls that will come with this new unelected and unaccountable governing body.

So, when they finally get what they want: a huge, unelected, unaccountable to anyone global instrument with the full authority to control the air, the land, the sea and everything under it -- and they do not like the results, and I promise you they will not like the results, who do they complain to? How do they air their grievances? By the ballot box? The only purpose of your ballot box, anymore, is to elect figureheads that provide the appearance of a function of local government. Nope, their officials are now in offices in places far from them. They are represented by no one and must answer to governance unaccountable to anyone.

Save the world? Even if the world were in peril, it would be a better alternative than what these malcontents have planned for us. The one bright patch -- the useful idiots are usually among the first to go.

Copenhagen and the U.N.

-He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation.

Hmmm...seems prescient to me.
