I have been silent for the last several days while the 24 hr. news cycle has been locked on the Healthcare debacle bill. There is one issue that has emerged which had been largely buried with the civil war. that issue is the matter of "States rights" over Federal Power. The issue that sparked the Civil War was the belief among Southern Americans that States' rights to self determination (which in this case was the right to legalize slavery) took precedent over the Federal Government's right to control state regulations. While it is my opinion that slavery of any kind is UnConstitutional which takes precedent over all legislation whether State or Federal, there is a clear pattern of a gradual power grab by the Federal Government since postwar reconstruction. This power grab has been led by BOTH parties starting with the corrupt management of reconstruction, leading to prohibition, through the "New"

a.k.a "Raw" Deal under FDR, all the way to the most recent "Patriot Act", Prescription drug legislation, TARP, and now the 2 largest power grabs by the Federal Government ever, Obamacare and Crap and Tax (Cap and Trade).
However, There is a mad rush of States, 34 so far are at various stages of passing various forms of legislation to block parts or all of the Obama healthcare destruction bill. I am inserting my opinion here by saying that so many states would not be passing such legislation unless they are getting huge opposition form constituents regarding the passage of this so called bill. I am quite surprised that Congress and the President doesn't see the opposition at the state level and realize that the only result of passing this legislation (when they actually come up with real legislation) will be (to quote that loon Massa) tearing this nation apart.
I will say again, that I think this vote is dangerous and could cause the so called peaceful anti-tax, anti federal government movement to go very quickly from a peaceful movement to something far worse. America be warned.
