War drums beating?

Looking at world events, there are some amazing and frightening parallels between the times and events leading to world war 1 and now.

Here is a list off of google that names some general events that are believed to have caused WW1. I will compare them to events happening now and let you decide for yourselves:

"World War 1 is actually much more complicated than a simple list of causes. While there was a chain of events that directly led to the fighting, the actual root causes are much deeper and part of continued debate and discussion. 1. Mutual Defense Alliances

Over time, countries throughout Europe made mutual defense agreements that would pull them into battle. Thus, if one country was attacked, allied countries were bound to defend them. Before World War 1, the following alliances existed:

• Russia and Serbia
• Germany and Austria-Hungary
• France and Russia
• Britain and France and Belgium
• Japan and Britain

Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, Russia got involved to defend Serbia. Germany seeing Russia mobilizing, declared war on Russia. France was then drawn in against Germany and Austria-Hungary. Germany attacked France through Belgium pulling Britain into war. Then Japan entered the war. Later, Italy and the United States would enter on the side of the allies.

Okay, currently we have NATO, OPEC, the UN, the "Axis of evil" between Iran Venezuela, Cuba and N.Korea. China and Russia are really behind those nations. We also have the European Union which is being influenced by many sides and is nearing collapse. America is generally allied with Canada, Israel, England and Germany but relations with all our allies are "strained" at the moment. There are also borderless alliances such as the Muslim brotherhood (Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas) as well as La Raza (MS 13, and the Latin American drug cartels.)

2.Imperialism Imperialism is when a country increases their power and wealth by bringing additional territories under their control. Before World War 1, Africa and parts of Asia were points of contention amongst the European countries. This was especially true because of the raw materials these areas could provide. The increasing competition and desire for greater empires led to an increase in confrontation that helped push the world into World War I.

Imperialism isn't happening now, right? The map hasn't changed since WW2. Think again...Russia showed the world how to build an empire using ideology and proxy war. Islamists are trying to take over Europe. Statists are trying to take over the US. Russia recently made the entire Polish government disappear forcing new elections that can be easily bought (Russia considers Poland its historical territory just as Mexicans consider the American Southwest theirs.) There is also Kyrgystan, Georgia (the nation) and the Ukraine where Russia is now exerting an increasing influence. China is trying to exert more and more influence on SW Asia.

3. Militarism

As the world entered the 20th century, an arms race had begun. By 1914, Germany had the greatest increase in military buildup. Great Britain and Germany both greatly increased their navies in this time period. Further, in Germany and Russia particularly, the military establishment began to have a greater influence on public policy. This increase in militarism helped push the countries involved to war.

Not happening now right? China and Russia have increased their Military spending by 1000% in the last decade. What do you think they do with all the money they get from that cheap stuff you buy? America has not decreased military spending , and the Islamists are awash in oil and opium money. What are they buying with that money? Since our cash is worthless, what do you folks think we trade for oil????

4. Nationalism

Much of the origin of the war was based on the desire of the Slavic peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina to no longer be part of Austria Hungary but instead be part of Serbia. In this way, nationalism led directly to the War. But in a more general way, the nationalism of the various countries throughout Europe contributed not only to the beginning but the extension of the war in Europe. Each country tried to prove their dominance and power.

Nationalism is on the rise in China, Russia, Europe, in the Islamic world and in S.America. We are the only nation that has a leader that feels we owe the world an apology and should let others take our lead.

5. Immediate Cause: Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand

The immediate cause of World War I that made all the aforementioned items come into play (alliances, imperialism, militarism, nationalism) was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. In June 1914, a Serbian nationalist assassinated him and his wife while they were in Sarajevo, Bosnia which was part of Austria-Hungary. This was in protest to Austria-Hungary having control of this region. Serbia wanted to take over Bosnia and Herzegovina. This assassination led to Austria-Hungary declaring war on Serbia. When Russia began to mobilize due to its alliance with Serbia, Germany declared war on Russia. Thus began the expansion of the war to include all those involved in the mutual defense alliances.

This was simply a flash point at a time when because of economic downturn, anger against european imperialism, and arrogance by world leaders led to a war no one could stop. America sold much of the Arms used in WW1 and ended up being owed billions by Europe which when was not repaid led to huge taxes and the Depression of 1920. We had a so called "progressive" President who swore to keep us out of war. Days after his reelection we jumped into WW1. Communism was able to take hold in Russia leading to it's exit of WW1 on an anti-war platform. By the start of WW2, Russia had the biggest, most advanced army in the world. We also had a "progressive" President who swore to keep us out of WW2. When attacked by Japan we invaded Europe first. Now we have another "progressive" President who ran on an anti-war platform but has increased the total number of troops currently overseas, yet has grossly mismanaged both Afganistan and Iraq to the point that victory (which was all but assured in both) is now all but impossible in Afganistan and looking less likely in Iraq. So you tell me, why should we not be worried about an impending world war?

The destruction of the next generation

NJ: Students in schools all over New Jersey are "going on strike" in protest of Gov Christie's budget cuts. They are walking out of class and gathering tea party style in front of the schools (because we all know how hard it is to get kids to leave class in the early spring). Now let's cut to the honest truth here, this is typical union thuggery only it is the Teacher's unions instead of the UAW. They always get union workers (or in this case students)to do their bidding. SO the taxpayers are paying way too much for a bunch of half assed socialist teachers to indoctrinate our students on how to be young revolutionaries.

Gov Christie, I have a simple solution for you. For every day the teachers convince their dweebs to walk out classes A. the teachers lose a day of pay, and B. the students lose a day of summer vacation. We'll see how long those protests last then.

Shortage of lifeboats on Guam?????

Congressman Hank Johnson was voicing concerns over defense budgetary spending that would necessarily accompany the influx of an addition 8,000 American troops on the island of Guam. After a lengthy display that he knows the dimensions of the American territory of Guam (Admiral Willard, commander of the U. S. Navy's Pacific Fleet, acknowledged that it was "a small island"), told the gathered members of Congress and military officials as he made a tipping motion with his hand, "My fear is that the whole island will become so overly populated that it will tip over and capsize."

To his credit, Admiral Willard chose not to educate and embarrass the congressman. Instead, Willard dryly asserted, "We don't anticipate that." But you can see in the video that the Admiral is fighting back a smile, but he soldiers (sailors?) on, explaining to the congressman that the current population of Guam (estimated at 175,000) would only attain 200,000 with the increase in American troops. accompany the influx of an addition 8,000 American troops on the island of Guam. .

However this does raise questions about Guam and it's infrastructure. Think back to 1912. They said the Titanic was also said to be unsinkable and only had adequate lifeboats for 1/10th of the indigenous population and crew. Hank Johnson, D, GA seeking to divert defense spending to special subisidies to indoor crop farming with alternative light sources to save the environment raised these questions along with environmental questions about dihydrogen monoxide restrictions, and safety improvements such as water wings, and moisture columns to better support Guam and prevent the swelling population and massive infrastructure from tipping the island over and drowning the population. If anyone has funding to spare for congressional reelection campaign donations we ask you to seriously consider Hank Johnson D, GA, a true humanitarian. Hope you enjoyed the first day of April! :0)

VIRAL OF THE DAY: The Obamas:Lawyers or not????

I am posting this, neither confirming nor denying the accuracy of this viral E-mail I received earlier. I am not trying to dredge up the whole "birther" craziness. Where I think far greater questions lie regarding the obama family regarding their supposed education. I have pointed out many times that info that should be available to the public regarding the Bar Exam to get a law degree such as test scores and number of times the exam was taken by a specific attorney. With both mr. and mrs. obama, such info is not only not available, it simply doesn't exist. On top of that, there is nobody who even claims to remember attending school with either mr. or mrs. obama. So I ask you the readers to dig into this for yourselves. Don't take my word, nor the word of this viral, but instead do some fact finding on your own, and if you can find the info that I have been unable to locate, I will be happy to post your findings. So please look at this, look at the evidence, and decide for yourselves what you think. Read, Question, Think...

Former Constitutional Law Lecturer and US President Makes Up Constitutional Quotes During State Of The Union (SOTU) Address

Consider this:

1. President Barack Obama, former editor of the Harvard Law Review, is no longer a "lawyer". He surrendered his license back in 2008 in order to escape charges he lied on his bar application. NOTE: Click on "lawyer" to see the actual documents.

3. So, we have the first black President and First Lady - who don't actually have licenses to practice law. Facts.

4. A senior lecturer is one thing.. A fully ranked law professor is another. Barack Obama was NOT a Constitutional Law professor at the University of Chicago.

5. The University of Chicago released a statement in March, 2008 saying Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) "served as a professor" in the law school-but that is a title Obama, who taught courses there part-time, never held, a spokesman for the school confirmed in 2008.

11. And this is the same guy who lectured the Supreme Court moments later in the same speech???

I saw a note slide across the #TCOT feed on Twitter last night that mentioned Michelle Obama had no law license. This struck me as odd, since (a) she went to school to be a lawyer, and (b) she just recently held a position with the University of Chicago Hospitals as legal counsel - and that's a pretty hard job to qualify for without a law license.

But being a licensed professional myself, I knew that every state not only requires licenses, they make it possible to check online the status of any licensed professional. So I did, and here's the results from the ARDC Website:

She "voluntarily surrendered" her license in 1993. Let me explain what that means. A "Voluntary Surrender" is not something where you decide "Gee, a license is not really something I need anymore, is it?" and forget to renew your license. No, a "Voluntary Surrender" is something you do when you've been accused of something, and you 'voluntarily surrender" your license, five seconds before the State suspends you.

Here's an illustration: I'm a nurse. At various times in my 28 years of nursing I've done other things when I got burned out; most notably a few years as a limousine driver; even an Amway salesman at one point. I always, always renewed my nursing license - simply because it's easier to send the state $49.00 a month than to pay the $200, take a test, wait six weeks, etc., etc. . . I've worked (recently) in a Nursing Home where there was an 88 year old lawyer and a 95 year old physician. Both of them still had current licenses as well. They would never DREAM of letting their licenses lapse. I happen to know there is currently in the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City Indiana an inmate who is a licensed physician, convicted of murder when he chased the two burglars who entered his home and terrorized his family into the street and killed them. (And I can't say I blame him for that, either.) This physician still has an active medical license and still sees patients, writes prescriptions, etc all from inside the prison.

And he renews his medical license every two years, too.

I tried looking up why she would "Voluntarily surrender" her license, but Illinois does not have its 1993 records online.

But when I searched for "Obama", I found this:

"Voluntarily retired" - what does that mean? Bill Clinton hung onto his law license until he was convicted of making a false statement in the Lewinsky case and had to "Voluntarily Surrender" his license too.

This is the former editor of the Harvard Law Review who doesn't seem to give a crap about his law license.

Something else odd; while the Search feature brings up the names, any searches for the Disciplinary actions ends quickly.

As in, Too Quickly. Less than a half-second quickly on a Search Engine that can take five seconds to Search for anything.

As in, "there's a block on that information" kind of thing.

So we have the first Lawyer President and First Lady - who don't actually have licenses to practice law.

The Invisible Transformation of America Pt1.

The first piece of the puzzle was a plan known as NAFTA. But to explain this, I must start at the beginning, and by the end, I will tell you how Obama IS transforming America before our eyes without us seeing it.

Early History:

After the Napoleonic wars, the Europeans started an international coaliton known as the the "Concert of Europe" aka the society, the COE was planned to prevent war in Europe. It worked for a time allowing european nations to build up huge stashes of arms that got used (many for the fist time in warfare) during WW1.

The League of Nations:
The League of (european) Nations was planned to prevent another WW1. But the real problem was allowing countries like Germany, Japan, and Italy to arm themselves once again. This was allowed to happen while other nations let them often claiming that doing do would promote peace. This mistake led to so many more, from letting The USSR take over half of Europe, forcing billions if not more to live under the same tyranny that we were wasting our heroic solders lives fighting to end to rampant socialism in Europe and so much more. Oddly much of this happened this way because FDR believed that Stalin's rule would be more just than Churchill's. Man crush??? You tell me. An even bigger mistake was the formation of the UN. While it didn't start this way, it is now the source of anti-western values,that has spread global chaos faster

than any group in history. UN membership has quickly changed from all western democracies to dictatorships terror sponsors and sworn enemies of the nation that pays for it to exist, and gives it a place to gather.

Ever get the feeling that there is something sinister going on behind all the stupidity at the white house? I believe that we are being sold the notion that the U.N is a weak toothless organization while it is secretly setting itself up for a massive power grab. There have been snippets in the news about the UN wanting to control how we raise our children for example. Now I will lay down facts about the U.N. and let you decide what you think.

The U.N: Part 1 early mistakes (cracks in the U.N. charter foundation)

Those who crafted the UN draft began the process before war. Roosevelt was far closer to Stalin in the respect of ideology than Churchill who he considered an imperialist with an agenda of growing his empire. The first time the term "united nations" referring to the allies fighting Nazi Germany and Japan was used by FDR in 1941 or 1942. Churchill was very upset by this as he wanted the alliance against Germany and Japan to be called the "United Allies." Churchill wanted the U.N to be an alliance of Democratic nations. Unfortunately, Roosevelt picked those who drafted the charter before he died. Even FDR understood that the UN would never create a "world utopia". However, his plan was to have America, Britain, China, and Russia as the enforcers of peace around the world. (what we now call the security council) However, others wanted an organization that any country could join. An American commentator named Lippmann agreed with FDR that if the entire world ran the UN, who was to decide what is in the world's best interest? What common interest would such countries have and would the countries have world interest at heart. basically, Lippmann had foreseen everything wrong with the UN years early by warning that the victorious powers must not put world peace in the hands of a body of government that had just formed.

Stalins Impact:

The architects that Roosevelt had chosen shared FDR's almost naive view of Stalin. As the war against Nazi Germany came to an end, the U.S.S.R., still considered an ally, used it's alliance with the USA and Great Britain to sneak in legislation in the U.N. charter calling for "closer relations" with eastern Europe that it liberated from Hitler. Such closer relations were only the beginning. There were many tiny loopholes in that founding document allowing Members to commit genocide to any political opponents. Those little cracks in the foundation created what we called the "Iron Curtain. Those cracks also grew and spread as this is just the beginning of the story.

I believe that we are being sold the notion that the U.N is a weak toothless organization while it is secretly setting itself up for a massive power grab. There have been snippets in the news about the UN wanting to control how we raise our children for example. Now I will lay down facts about the U.N. and let you decide what you think.

The U.N: Part 1 early mistakes (cracks in the U.N. charter foundation)

Those who crafted the UN draft began the process before war. Roosevelt was far closer to Stalin in the respect of ideology than Churchill who he considered an imperialist with an agenda of growing his empire. The first time the term "united nations" referring to the allies fighting Nazi Germany and Japan was used by FDR in 1941 or 1942. Churchill was very upset by this as he wanted the alliance against Germany and Japan to be called the "United Allies." Churchill wanted the U.N to be an alliance of Democratic nations. Unfortunately, Roosevelt picked those who drafted the charter before he died. Even FDR understood that the UN would never create a "world utopia". However, his plan was to have America, Britain, China, and Russia as the enforcers of peace around the world. (what we now call the security council) However, others wanted an organization that any country could join. An American commentator named Lippmann agreed with FDR that if the entire world ran the UN, who was to decide what is in the world's best interest? What common interest would such countries have and would the countries have world interest at heart. basically, Lippmann had foreseen everything wrong with the UN years early by warning that the victorious powers must not put world peace in the hands of a body of government that had just formed.

Stalins Impact:

The architects that Roosevelt had chosen shared FDR's almost naive view of Stalin. As the war against Nazi Germany came to an end, the U.S.S.R., still considered an ally, used it's alliance with the USA and Great Britain to sneak in legislation in the U.N. charter calling for "closer relations" with eastern Europe that it liberated from Hitler. Such closer relations were only the beginning. There were many tiny loopholes in that founding document allowing Members to commit genocide to any political opponents. Those little cracks in the foundation created what we called the "Iron Curtain. Those cracks also grew and spread as this is just the beginning of the story.

Little Johnny:

A teacher asked her 6th grade class how many
of them were Obama fans.

Not really knowing what an Obama fan is,
but wanting to be liked by the teacher,
all the kids raised their hands except for little Johnny.

The teacher asked little Johnny why he
has decided to be different again.

My 2 Cents, POTUS, TOTUS, States Rights, Education, The Whole Stinking Mess.

 

Okay folks, if you have not seen the photo yet, it is everywhere.  Yes, yes, it is true.  The POTUS needs TOTUS to stay on message when talking to 11 year olds.  Those on the defense point out that the press was there too, well sure it was, he wouldn’t go into a PUBLIC school if there wasn’t a PR Opportunity to be had. And Clifton at Another Black Conservative is right on the money as usual.  Big O has no substance, he is a product of a machine in a way we have not seen since the bad old robber baron days.  At any rate I want to comment on one part of the story.  For other commentary please read any of the fine sources at the bottom of the post, or many others that are out there.

What I want to focus on is the State’s Rights issue here, as well as the quality education that our kiddos deserve.  It really is easy to understand and see things for what they are when you understand what the broader goal for the left is.  They always say it is for the children, but clearly it is not.  If money was the solution to why we are ‘sucking hind teat’ among the nations of the world for education, don't you think by now that we would have fixed it?  Money is NOT THE ISSUE and MORE will not fix it.  The issue IS the federal standards.  I come from a long line of teachers. Two grandparents, an Aunt, and Uncle, 5 Cousins, and more, all teachers.  From IL, TN, MO, and TX, they all sing the same tune.

This started when I was a youngster.  We all did the achievement tests, I do not remember when I was in Elementary School spending time learning the test, but by the time several administrations policies had taken their toll and High School rolled around, we were spending weeks specifically practicing for the test.  Well, I gotta ask the obvious question, are we training kids to take tests or to THINK?  Obviously we are training them to put little black dots in little circles on paper…push the button KOKO get a bannaner…

Here is the reality of all the crappy federal regulations that have happened starting in the Sixties.  Step 1. The IRS takes money out of the hands of producers that could be spent locally and sends it to Washington. Step 2. The Fed sets an arbitrary performance standard for curriculum across this nation from Maine to Hawaii, and Alaska to Key West.  Encompassing all the flavors of the rainbow and cultures that we possess.  Step 3. States are set to compete for the dollars by meeting these standards.  Step 4. Individual school districts, beholden to the Federal and States for the dollars removed from individuals and businesses in their districts, must compete amongst themselves for the dollars apportioned to the states.  Step 5.  Through entitlement programs, and the general moral decay of our society, along with the rampant PC and lack of discipline applied to our children, parents do not parent, and children are increasingly apathetic towards learning. Step 6. Teachers, needing their careers, and under pressure from their administration for results, begin to teach little Johnny and Little Susie how to answer test questions, similar to monkeys in some sociology experiment, instead of how to use their BRAINS.  Step 7: as performance standards outstrip the children’s actual ability to remember and regurgitate infonuggets schools resort to really ridiculous ways of propping up their scores in a downward spiral of ignorance. Throw in laughable standards for a teaching certificate, Teachers unions, and Smarmy politicians and voila, a McDollar Menu Education  on a Filet Mignon budget.

We do not let teachers teach, and we do not provide a basis for our children’s future, because we have turned teaching into a race for federal hog slop.  And it goes without saying that Obama’s plan will hasten the further degeneration of the actual quality of children’s education further.  Why?  Because we should not try to teach all the kids in this nation the same thing on the same day at the same hour.  That is what makes things meaningless. Even making the State’s Rights argument doesn’t go far enough.  I feel strongly, and logic supports me, that curriculum should be decided on a district by district level.  I would settle for State by State, but even in Missouri there are wide cultural variances regarding not only what, but how kids should be taught.  One size never ever fits all, and in this case, most lose out.

Some of the greatest minds in history were self educated, or educated in one room schoolhouses.  We do not need 20 million dollar high schools with laboratories rivaling that of pharmaceutical research companies, and gymnasiums that look like something from ESPN.  We need to teach the three R’s , Readin, ‘Riting, and ‘Rithmatic.   I have done posts previously that demonstrate from the local level that our schools are horrible, the local one here averages something like 20 hours a week of potential instructional time to Jr. High kids.  What they are learning in 7th grade I learned in 5th, what I learned in 5th my parents learned in 4th.  I was taught Phonics and Greek and Latin root words and taught to look at context. When I see a word I have not encountered I can make a reasonable guess at how it is pronounced and probably its’ general meaning.  Children today are taught words by rote memorization and “sight words” nonsense hogwash garbage.  We still teach math all wrong to kids, my grandparents can do as much math in their heads as I can do with a calculator and forget giving me a pencil it is a waste of time. When I was a kid in Texas we learned Texas history, and when I moved to Missouri, we learned Missouri history.  When I got to High School I learned World History, up to the Vietnam War. Guess what, forty years since Vietnam, and kids learn up to the Vietnam War.  The color of the houses of the natives to the Indian Subcontinent are not as relevant to our kids as what happened since Vietnam, yet, that is part of the curriculum.  And yellow, if you are wondering, all the houses were yellow, and they all disappeared and no one knows why.  Riveting isn’t it? 

If we focused on teaching people how to THINK and then Inspired them to do so and gave them direction we would be way better off than trying to cram useless facts into their head without giving them any context.  This is how the Ignorance is spread folks.  This is why kids worship Che.  This is why we are losing.  If we win the battle on Healthcare, and that is a big IF, then we will have to win Immigration on our terms to turn the tide.  Then, in order to actually win, Education reform is the battlefield we will win it on, and it will take two generations, or we are pretty much shot as far as I see it.  Local People, teaching their Kids, at the Local level, lessons that are relevant to them.  Let’s teach our kids to Read. To Learn. To Question, and to THINK.
