Add to this equation regarding the behind-the-scenes activities to the fact that McConnell's strategy is to use ObamaCare's passage as a catalyst to increase GOP gains in the Senate and you have the ingredients for a complete GOP meltdown next year.

I agree that this could turn into a scandal far worse than "Climategeate" or Sen Nelson's shady backroom deal to change his vote (which makes more since if McConnell was pushing it too, right). Senator McConnell, you have been a big spending big government earmark machine that played a huge role in causing many of the problems now facing the nation, not to mention effectively neutering those in the senate who truly want to stop this. It is actions like this that have effectively destroyed your party. At least with Pelosi, Reid, Dodd and big fat Barney, you know what you get, but you claim to be the leader of the political party that wants smaller, smarter government. Can you really accomplish that when you get one of the biggest earmarks in the latest omniB.S. spending bill? Just as with Charlie Crist, Gov of Florida and his shady dealings with Obama which once exposed has both cut off his financial support and voter support. Notice how fast Sen Nelson D (FL) changed his mind on his vote right after Obama visited Florida? That was the visit
that Crist claimed not to know about, yet it was later revealed that the Crist administration set up the meeting place in Miami according to e-mails. Since this came out, Crist has plunged in the polls, and the big money financial backers that had the election a complete lock for Crist are now supporting the far more conservative Rubio (who is scheduled to speak at a 912ers meeting in January I will be attending). Now, the same will happen to you, Sen. McConnell, as word of this is out. You realize that your constituents are not the most "liberal" in the country by any means and probably wont be too happy about your earmarking or your backroom deals with Democrats regarding such a major issue. I am looking forward to seeing you leave the Senate very soon. (Maybe before the election)
