Where do we go from here?
We are at a political crossroads. We (the independent bloggers, tea party folks and the 912ers) have reached the point where we need to become a coherent group. We clearly have the numbers , but we are disorganized. We need some sort of coming together. In a perfect world, it would be some sort of rally in D.C. We also need a name that represents what we believe in. I favor the “Constitutionalist” party, myself but would love to hear other ideas. I realize that for saying this, some Obama led gestapo agents my beat my door down and take me away to that place where people never come back from, but I accept that. Where the Unions, and Acorn have the upper hand now is organization. If we want to beat them we must out organize them. I believe the day to do that is July 4th. It falls on a Saturday this year and there should be one big tea party in D.C. It would make the "million man march" look like a house party.
I like the idea of coordinating efforts. My concern about a 3rd party is that it could split conservative votes, leaving conservatives sitting on the sidelines, AGAIN. The marxists took over the Democrat party. Is there any reason WE cannot take back the Republican party?
ReplyDeleteIf the Republicans actually thought there was a legit 3rd party starting to form, they would come back to us. Remember, the Repubs left us. We didn't leave them. If we want them to come back, they need a reason bigger than money or power. If 1 or 2 conservative 3rd party candidates got elected in 2010, that would bring the Repubs and maybe "Blue Dog" dems back to us in a flash. The Constitution starts with "We the People" and we saw Wednesday what We the People can do but we have to show that we are for real and not just a momentary trend.
ReplyDeleteOpus #6 beat me to the punch here. The time an energy it would take to get a new party up, running, and actually capable of winning would be better spent taking over the existing GOP apparatus. After 2000, the Democratic party was taken over by the Daily Kos/Michael Moore/MoveOn.org crowd. It took them a while to purge the leadership of wafflers and compromisers, but the were ultimately successful, and the results of the last two elections (2006 and 2008) speak for themselves. No reason the Tea Party/independent bloggers can’t do the same thing to the Republican Party.
ReplyDeleteThe Repubs have this attitude that we will vote for them because they are the better choice. They left us. We are their base. We voted them out and they still didn't learn their lesson. the next step is for one or two independent (3rd party) conservatives to get elected to congress in 2010. Realizing that we can go elsewhere will bring the Repubs back to the reservation and we will avoid getting another "center left" Mccain as our Repub cadidate. How many conservatives votd for Mccain in the primaries because he could "get the middle" making him more electable. The dems catered to their base and look at the results.
ReplyDeleteThe Daily Kos/Michael Moore/MoveOn.org/ACORN etc. crowd is run by 1 man. He is pulling the strings, paying the bills, running the teleprompter and has the invisible gun to Obama's head. His name is GEORGE SOROS.
