Twitter fraud

I tried to sign up for a twitter account this evening. I was not able to because someone has improperly used my e-mail address for their twitter account. I have only had the same e-mail address since 2004. Twitter didn't exist then. I never received a confirmation e-mail so this sounds an awful lot like something illegal was done. It sounds like someone will pay dearly for doing this too. If whoever did that reads this blog: I promise that you will dearly regret using my e-mail in that fashion.
