I've been waiting to do this blog since last summer and the opportunity finally arrived last Sunday afternoon. Probably many NASCAR fans among you and you already know what I am about to discuss. Tony Stewart a.k.a SMOKE (who my leopard is names after) left a championship organization that is one of the best in NASCAR to join with HAAS CNC racing, a mediocre team at best to become a team owner/driver in America's toughest sport. (Anyone who can find a sport where 43 teams play on the same field with 1 winner then I'll give it to you) Smoke got his first points win Sunday. Doing that with a new team in the first year is unheard of in the modern era of NASCAR. The thing is, my story isn't about the race, but it is about Smoke doing the American thing. He took a huge risk that probably would have ended his Nascar career with nothing less than success. Smoke did it. The reason he is successful at everything he does is not because he has a genie in a bottle to give him wishes. It's not because he's superman. It is not because he won the lottery off a welfare check! Tony understands people. People are what made this country great, just like picking the best people has made Stewart-Haas Racing great. So remember next time you see the #14 car on tv or in the newspaper, whether you are fans or not, they are doing it the American Way.
